Whispering Willows

The course is nice, but they inexplicably changed the policy about taking carts into the parking lot. I've been playing this course for 30 years and can't understand the change. I'm an aging senior and this is difficult for me. Keep this in mind if you want to play here.

We were the first group off after an outing took place and we sailed through the front 9. When we made the turn, we were stuck for every shot behind people. It's as if they put out players playing 9-only out on the back 9, instead of starting on the front, so it slowed everything to a screeching hault. Also, the GPS units in each cart were on, but didn't work. The course was playing Cart-Path-Only, but there were no signs in the club-house or around the practice range stating such, so not until getting stuck in the middle of the fairway on the first hole did you know that it was Cart-Path-Only.

Overall It is a good experience to play there, but several tee box areas are not maintained very well with less grass.

Played here for the first time yesterday, and the views were spectacular! The greens were very well kept, and the course layout was challenging but very manageable.

My only real point of frustration was with the lawnmower operator. It sounds silly to say, but for almost five entire holes he was following me very closely, idling loudly behind me and smoking cigarettes (and leaving them on the ground. I must have stepped on six of them just of the greens).

Even after letting him pass, and waiting a few extra minutes at the turn, he still wound up behind us again. I'm not sure if it was our tee time or what, but it was very distracting and really detracted from the overall experience, and it definitely affected my game.

Again, this is a small and simple point, but hopefully something that will be considered by management for future rounds. I would definitely love to come back!

GPS and digital scorecard was a great touch to the carts! Only two complaints: Hole #10’s fairway runs along side the driving range, making it hard to find your ball. I recommend using a red ball on this hole since the range balls are yellow and white. The other complaint was that we had a 6:36am tee time and for some reason the lawn tractor was in sync with us most of the course, constantly having to wait for him to pass- or he’d stop and wait on us to hit- made things a bit distracting. I suppose the course needs to be maintained SOMETIME, but it affected our experience. Staff inside was very friendly and the value was awesome! We will be back!

It’s been a long time since I played here last, and it was pretty much how I remembered it. Decent layout, but so many blind shots from the tee. If you’re not familiar with the course, you’re just guessing how far to the doglegs, etc...The carts has some sort of gps system for course layout and scoring, but offered no assistance for yardages.

I would call this course mediocre. The pace of play was decent, as we completed our round in about 4 hours.

This was a challenging course for first time play. Most fairways were narrow, lots of trees. Tee boxes were a little rough, greens were good.

I live in the area. Have played this course for many years. First time I was extremely disappointed with the personnel in the pro shop. First, went in the pro shop to ask about the estimated round time. Was told that if we needed to leave after 9, we could get a rain check. Was denied a rain check by the next person when we went back after 9. Next, while on the first tee waiting to tee off, a threesome pulled up in two carts and one set of clubs. The starter made a comment that they each need their own set. He called the pro shop. They let them go. First taboo of a course is to not allow club sharing. After many years playing here, I will probably not go back.

i would have probably still golfed this course, but they should add to the website that the course has decided to not activate the cart GPS system to save costs. a staff member did not inform me of this either. or the starter.. NOONE informed me. so i had to wonder for many holes WHY it wasnt working. im glad my phone app was working mostly. but this is the type of course to where you have to know how far it is to the end of the fairway or how far it is to the bunker or the creek, or the hazard. i had to guess. this would be a good course to hold an outing, a scramble. but all in all, the cart paths were color marked with distances, and there was sprinkler heads that had distances too.

Good place to play. Very fair price for the hot deal. Only complaint is that the pace was a little slow but not too bad. Overall good place to play locally!
