I've been a member of Currie for around 7 years and generally play Mon - Friday. Over the past few years, the pace of play has grown progressively worse and course management seems unable or unwilling to take steps to improve the situation.. It is to the point where if 5, 5.5, or 6 hour rounds (18 holes) are problematic, then this course is not the one for you.
First Time At Currie
My first time at the course was in a group setting. The course was amazing and the greens were of LPGA quality... Although, the facilities were not the same condition. The bathrooms were a mess like they weren't tended to at all that week. None of the stalls had any paper in them and when I asked the young staff member, HE NEVER RETURNED. The event came with food BUT after seeing the cook sweating and the way in which he was coughing with no gloves on I decided to only have a bag of chips. Grill staffed seemed overwhelmed and the service showed. We were lucky to even be greeted... We have already booked another tee time, we will just eat before we come! Great play though beautiful scenery!
Up north feel.
All holes are lined with lots of pine trees. Felt like you are up north. Saw lots of wild life while we played.
Good Layout and Staff
Good layout and staff but not enough course rangers!
Currie East
Currie east is in great shape. Fairways were kept up well, and the greens were maintained. I would play the east side again. There was no one in front of me either as I teed off at 3:30, I was done within an hour.
Great course
This was my first time playing here, initially I was concerned about the trees on both sides of the fairways. They are wider than how they looked on my App.
There were tee boxes that we thought should have been switched on a couple of par 3 holes. The Blues actually had a better sight line to the pin than the Whites.
I will definitely be back, I wish it was closer to home.
Outstanding course!
My son and I had a great time golfing on your course! We will return!
Overpriced garbage
Sand bunkers had 2 foot tall weeds in it, they was running the sprinklers on the greens while we were teeing off the hole. The clubhouse is being remodeled.
Beautiful day to spend on a beautiful course. We only had one issue on the back nine is one hole had huge sprinklers going right in the middle of the day, and naturally my ball always goes towards water. Lol
