I would rank as #3 in Springfield area
I would rate this private course right behind highland Springs and Hickory Hills as the best courses in the Springfield area.... All new indoor outdoor hitting bays that Missouri State University golf team practices on are an added bonus... The drive into the country club has an Augusta feel about it... Arnold Palmer holds the course record which is a neat fun fact. The course is always in good shape and has a fun layout. The only complaint is that it has a LOT of members and weekend rounds tend to get very long and tee times are somewhat hard to get. The course is tough but scoreable. Definitely a good play if you know a member and can get on!
A gem
I was a guest of a member the day after thanksgiving, the course is highly tree lined, which forces accurate tee shots. Also, bunkers are placed in very strategic locations and they will punish errant shots. The sand reminds me of Florida sand and is very playable though. The facilities are top rate as is the food, as I also ate dinner there. If I lived in the vicinity, I would definitely pursue membership at this club.
