Keep your eye on the ball
The lady in the club house was very friendly. She allowed me to tee off before my tee time, she offered. The practice green was not in as good of shape as the course was. At first I was pretty worried I'd be putting on rugs.
The front 9 was somewhat straight forward. Maybe one or 2 par 4's that i had to hit an iron off the tee box. The back 9 was a little bit more exciting I thought. Hole 10 is a blind tee shot and nearly impossible to know where your ball is your first time out there. Overall the course was what I thought it would be. Played fast, not a lot of ppl out there. The ROUGH is long, your gonna lose some balls, keep an eye on it for a long time before you go back to your cart.
Hole 16 was the only hole that i really didn't care for. I par'd it somehow but teeing off with a wedge/9 iron into a spot to hit another 9/wedge was pretty lame. I thought they could have cut down some trees on the right side and let you think about a driver or something.
Overall the green speed is slow, but it's consistent and the greens are soft...heck i've played greens that are hard and slow, so i was happy that they were soft, so my ball would stick pretty well.
Tee boxes are garbage, but i was ok with it, cus i'm not picky.
Fairways are nice when you hit them, the rough is thick and kills your ball when it hits it.
Had fun
The course is in good shape compared to other courses in the Omaha area. The greens were great. The fairways were a little long, but they were out cutting some as we were golfing. So it could've just been timing. There was quite a bit of standing water. Otherwise the course looked good.
Cheap rates not in great shape
Cheap rates very friendly staff course wasn't in great shape greens and fairways were long but for what we paid we didn't expect a perfect course
Great value for money
$10 for 18 holes and a cart. It could have been played on concrete and still been good value for money. The greens were in better condition than the green fee would suggest. The fairways were in $10 shape - full of dandelions and not cut. My only birdie of the day was on the most impossible hole - go figure! If you are a beginner and don't want to be rushed or just looking for bargain golf like me, you will not find better anywhere.
Valley View
I have played Valley View alot of times and the only thing i wish they did was mow it. way too long of grass, lost too many ball that should have been found which leads to longer rounds. Fun course but please take time and mow it. I like it alot.
US OPEN ROUGH
Small town golf. Course was very pretty and interesting in layout. Front 9 is pretty straightforward but the back 9 gets alot more confusing. The primary downfall of this course was the rough. If you did not hit the fairway on a drive it was not good. SEVERAL balls lost within 3 feet of fairway. If when looking for slightly wayward shot if you were not almost directly on top of your golf ball you would not find it. As I mentioned, the back 9 is a little confusing as to which fairway went with which tee etc. 10 is a unique tee shot thru a 30 ft wide shoot of trees from an elevated tee (about 4 stories above fairway) to a dogleg left fairway that u can not see from tee.
Great value
A challenging course that is fun to play! My only complaint is the course needs a lot of turf, fairway, and green work. The staff are great and I will continue to keep going to this course.
Needs work
Greens are not in good shape
Long grass around the greens
Shortage of grass on some tees and uneven
Great value
Great value for the money. An old style, nice course that is not highly manicured by modern standards, but still well maintained and filled with interesting challenges. If you don't like to shell out big bucks, are not overly concerned with perfect "fair" maintenance, and like what a great course would have looked like 50 years ago (shorter, with 60's style agronomy), this is your course.
So,So
I booked a deal on golf now.com, I drove out there and there was only two groups on the course. I had high wind to deal with but as a new golfer, the rough was long and it was in the fall so leaves was on the fairway and greens, real easy to lose golf balls. Need to play in the summer to get a good review of the course. The front nine was on top of a hill and bottom nine is down below the hill.
Late fall cheap golf
We played without interruption except looking for balls in the unmowed ruff. The greens were not cut and were hairy. Fun for $5 and no competition for space.
Not worth the drive
I expected with a 30 minute drive from Omaha it would have been a nice course to attract people from the metro but it really isn't. $15 for 18 holes with a cart is good but add $10 in gas and you are at $25 to play a poorly maintained course. You would be much better playing a nice course in Omaha for the same value. There are no signs to direct you around the course and believe me, they are needed. It took 2 1/2 hours to play 18 and that was with at least 20 minutes spent trying to find the next tee boxes. This course reminded me of when I was a kid and used a lawn mower to make a couple of holes in a pasture. Fairway grass was over two inches in most places and the greens were long too. I did see a mower at work so it must only be a weekly endeavor. I won't be going back despite the cheap green fees.
Great value for the money
Good course, the back nine will challenge you. The service is very friendly.
Worth the drive!
Worth the drive! Friendly staff called me to let me know that they were busy around my schedule tee time just to let me know that I would be a little late starting. The 16th & 17th holes will challenge the best golfers.
Awesome experience
This course was very enjoyable with an awesome location and friendly regulars. We will be back again!
Maybe if you are a beginner, otherwise avoid at all cost!
The course is poorly maintained. The greens are incredibly poor! (putting on shag carpet) Could not distinguish between fairway and rough. Tee boxes were horrible! Almost every flagstick is leaning against the edge of the cup because the cups are broken on the inside. Overall experience was not enjoyable. I grew up on a small town course and enjoy playing them, but this one is not worth it! The price is tempting, but not when you include the 30-40 minute drive.
Good value for the price we paid to play the course.
The front 9 holes are more interesting than the back 9 holes. It had rained in the morning (we played in the afternoon) and the back 9 holes are in a valley so there was some water and mud. The cart trail for the back 9 holes needs to be more clearly marked, as we sometimes had trouble finding our way to the next hole or down the proper cart trail for the hole we were playing.
Awesome course conditions
The course played really well, fairway conditions were optimal for flag hunting, greens played a little slower forcing agressive putting. Aside from slow play from recreational golfers and an occassional hole skip due to mowing and watering of tees and greens, I did appreciate the opportunistic hole placements. Overall, I had a great time the staff was well mannered and friendly. I will definitely play there again.
good cheap golf
$12 for 18 holes and a cart. Who can beat that? Greens were in good shape, no divots like at most courses in omaha. Fairways were decent. The only bad things were the greens on 13,14, and 15 weren't playable because they were replanting for next year. also no beer cart attendant.Very fun course for beginners, with only a few very challenging holes. Definitely coming back.
