Though it is in the country it is worth the ride to play this scenic course. The layout has character and the greens are well-kept offering scenic views from the sandhills.

Out of towners

Being new to the course, it would’ve helped to have more signage especially for those teeing off from forward markers. Course was very challenging and in good shape and the weather was better than we expected. Staff were great, but we never saw anyone offering beverages or snacks on the course.

Great Find!

This is a visually challenging course, but if you hit it well, you can still score. I loved it. Glad I played extremely well, or it would be tough. My son enjoyed it too. My option is 15 handicap or higher, this place could be frustrating. Excited to go back.

There was little or no signage on most holes. It is a very challenging course but frustrating trying to figure out where to go to tee off.

Terrific but difficult layout

Course was in great shape from tee to green. Greens faster than average for public course but still fair. Super windy that day that made par 5s feel like par 6s or par 4s. Lots of blind shots too. This course will humble you but DEF worth playing if in the area or for a NE outing.

Great course, hidden gem.

You don’t expect to see a course of this quality and caliber in the middle of Nebraska. I’ve played it close to 10 times over the past year while visiting son in college. Conditions have always been spectacular, with challenges everywhere from fairways to rough greens. It’s very hilly, so take the cart to keep your round enjoyable. Full rack rate can seem a bit pricy, but hot deals and twilight rates are available if you have flexibility.

First Class Venue

This course provides an amazing golfing experience in western Nebraska. It is challenging for all levels of players with terrain variations that provide unique vistas and playing opportunities. Layed out in a naturally beautiful area on the west side of the community, the course itself with practice areas and clubhouse are all in top condition. The value provided at this facility is hard to beat anywhere. This is without a doubt a First Class Venue among public or private golf courses.

Awesome golf course

A link style course with some considerable elevation changes. Thank goodness the wind wasn’t blowing harder this course would be extremely difficult I played from the white tees and I am a 10 handicap. Do you have our threes from 120 yards to 200 yards. One drivable par four and some measuring over 440 yards. I and some holes elevation changes could be as much is 200 to 300 feet. Greens are reasonably large and sometimes have considerable undulations. The green surfaces were pristine enrolled true. Fairways were an excellent condition. The rough was indeed rough and if you ventured I would be on the rough into the native grasses, good luck finding your ball. I once read that this course is a links course of steroids. I would agree and would consider the Castle course at Saint Andrews in Scotland to be comparable with this course layout.

This course is a bit off the beaten path but certainly is worth the 70 mile drive south of North Platte Nebraska to play it at least once. You won’t be disappointed.

Not for beginners…

I am by no means a good golfer, started about a year ago. This course was too difficult for me. The condition of the course was awesome, greens were all manicured and well kept a, same for tee boxes and fairways. The fairways are pretty narrow, but the difficult part is the fact you rarely see the flag from the tee box. The course is extremely hilly, and if you haven’t played there before, or with someone who has, it’s hard to figure out where to hit. They have prairie grass mixed into the course and it’s very easy to loose a lot of balls into them. If you go when there is anything over a 10mph wind… don’t. I was playing with a 15-20mph wind and as soon as any of the drives got elevation, wind drug then right out into the grass and gone forever. Overall, very clean, very challenging course.

Unique layout

Course is very hilly with lots of slope to greens and fairways. Lots of unique holes with blind shots. Challenging to mid and high handicap. Has been rated a top public course. Clubhouse is somewhat dated but staff is friendly and easy to get a tee time. Look for discounted tee times.
