1st: Scenery and golf course vie for the starring role at Waukewan. This first green, blind from the fairway, has a hidden bunker behind it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

6th: A tight par-5. Here we look back—across the pond--at the ribbon of fairway where the tee shot lands, for those who prefer to stay dry and out of the woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
7th: A masterful 3-par, viewed from right flank. This bunker is out of view from the tee, along with another trap on the green’s opposite side. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
8th: From behind green. Perhaps one of the most elegant and scenic par-5’s in all of New Hampshire. It’s also tough. This view faces the tee, which is a long way down the immense hill. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

16th: Another strong hole over a stretch of seven on the back side. Uphill, long par-3 to a perched green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020
-
18th: View behind/left of hole. Pond must be traversed on either 1st or 2nd shot of 4-par: a risk/reward decision. New England scenery, including clubhouse, forms a pleasant backdrop. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2020

Golfer Reviews
Play it again
After driving several miles on unpaved/dirt roads to get there we were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful course. We played today for the first time at this course. The person at the front desk told us to log on to the site to get hints for playing each hole. We did, and they were "right on". They had a lot of rain two nights ago, so there were a number of puddles and cart path only holes. Understandable. The tee boxes were in very good shape and the green were well taken care of for sure. After playing 18 holes with my wife in 2 hours and 10 minutes, I really wanted to go back another day to play it again, but our time here is limited. The only suggestion for this course is to have the yardage markers more visible. They were hard to find and see, if they were there at all. Perhaps some markers along the boundaries and on the trees would remedy this issue. Otherwise, we'd play it again.
Very nice but so wet
Apparently they had a lot of rain this summer and it was so wet some holes weren’t even playable. That said it seemed like they took pride in the course and course layout and the views were terrific
Thank you for giving us a try during one of the wettest seasons in memory. Hope the next time you give us a try we have playing conditions that are more appropriate for the time of year.
Rough
T boxes and fairways were terrible. Lost balls hit straight but can’t see them land due to layout.
Pro shop inflexible when paying in advance. Has a tee time. Pouring buckets. They called and said no carts allowed, even though I prepaid for one. I asked for a rain check, we said we would play the next day, they refused. Forced us to ask golf now for a credit.
Wanted to give them another chance so booked there again. Had something come up so I called to see if we could get out early. “ sure if you cancel with golf now and book direct, and pay more”. Plenty of openings they just didn’t want to be helpful.
Starter was nice and friendly. Greens were good.
Hope you can visit with us again. We are bound by agreements with Golfnow so that can be inflexible at times depending on how you booked with them. It was a rough year at best as we recorded the wettest summer on record since records have been kept. The Pro Shop associates were spot on as Hot Deals are a double edged sword as you experienced during your visit.
Very Muddy, very slow greens
The round was disappointing as the greens looked like they hadn’t been cut in a week, many fairways were damaged by water. I have played Canterbury Woods, Lochmere, and Ridgewood that were all in superb condition compared to this course
Hello Ford Man, and thank you for your fair rating. It has been a difficult year for courses in the area but all courses worked hard to put out their best. Greens are cut daily and we did experience some damage to two of our low lying holes. Oddly enough, the courses mentioned all experienced difficult playing conditions from time to time throughout the summer but we applauded them, not lauded them.
good value for the money
The course was very wet on some holes, one hole was unplayable from the tee,
Hey James, thank you for your 4-star review in light of the difficult summer season this year. Hope to see you again.
The course was just extremely saturated with water, or would have had a better over not the management problem was Mother Nature.
Yes, I would apologize for the rainy summer weather but can't control the powers that be. Hope your next visit is better than the last.
Thank you for your excellent rating. If you have time, let others know what made your round special.
Classic New Hampshire Golf
This course is always in good shape, especially the greens. The online complaint I have is that the rough is usually 4 to 5 inches high, and you can hit a good shot 3 feet of the fareway, , and loose your ball, 5 feet left or right long or short of the green and never find it. Outside of that it is a great value and fun to play, with a challenge on every hole.
Hello Fastnh and thank you for your review and recognizing us as a true classic. Hope you visit with us again.
Thank you for your 4-star review! We would love to hear more about your experience if you have time.
Great price…interesting course.
Really enjoyed playing this course, new to us. Great condition, wonderful staff.pace of play was perfect, we played in just under 4 hours.
Hoping to play again during our week holiday
Thank you for your 4-star review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. Hope to see you again.
Grounds need an upgrade
Challenging course. Greens and bunkers were great. Fairways and rough could pass for a cow pasture.
Hey John, thanks for giving us a try. Your perception is correct as this course was built on cow pastures. Yes, early season conditions in the foothills of the Whites can be slow to develop.

Hello and thank you for visiting us and your great rating. Looking forward to another great year.
Thanks taking the time to rate our course. We hope you will visit us again soon.
Thank you for your 4 star rating and taking the time to offer suggestions. You must've come to us via the country roads that snake between rts 3&25. It is a nice drive but unpaved. Hope you visit us again.
