Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Valleyview/Lakeview Course
About
The Valleyview nine is the most difficult course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately one hour from New York City. Small greens, tree-lined fairways, hilly terrain and out of bounds on seven of nine holes are among the reasons the Valleyview nine is a test. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1979.

Golfer Reviews
Highly recommend Farmstead
Farmstead is a very good NJ golf course. I’ve played here many times and it never has disappointed. It offers 27 holes in a very nice country setting. It has always be in very good condition every time I’ve played here! The food in the clubhouse is also very good and the staff is fantastic! Highly recommend this course if you are looking for a great NJ golf course and haven’t tried it.
Great day of golf (Until the rain came)
Farmstead is completely worth the cost and the drive. We played Lake and Club (which are both much better than Valley). The group in front of us was a bit slow, but the ranger gave them a nudge. We got the 14th hole and the skies decided to open up with torrential downpours. Other than the rain, Farmstead is a solid course. Just wish they had range. Can't wait to go back.
Value Course
Farmstead is a great spot if you’re on a budget. Very good conditions and layout. Greens on the slow side but well kept. Pace of play was brutal on this Saturday afternoon. Totally unacceptable having a 3 hour front nine. Rangers need to be more active out there and be on slower groups.
Great course!
Course it very very good especially if you like one with views. I played Lake - Valley. The whole course is super challenging(especially valley), kind of forces you to place your shots, you won’t be using driver on every hole and there is a lot of water. Another thing to keep in mind is the rough is really heavy.
