July 4th Snail’s Pace
I play this course regularly but today was terrible. There’s no limit on the number of players in a group. Subsequently, I had a group of 5 in front of me, a group of 7 in front of them and a group of 6 in front of them. After holes and 3.5 hours, I gave up. I’ve seen a group of nine at times. Unacceptable!
Not impressed
Club has had plenty of time to repair course after the Oct flood. Only reason I played was a great deal on tee off app. Staff is very friendly, but course still needs alot of work.
Spring River Golf course
When we made the reservation, we were never told that the course greens have been sanded down making putting terrible. Tee boxes are dry and not well kept. Surrounding area around the fairways is overgrown with weeds and not well kept. I was 10 feet off the fairway and I lost my ball.
Better than Expected
This was a fun course and the price was right. I don't live in Roswell and it was my first time playing it, but I would play it again. Greens were in good shape.
The course is not alien to golfers
It hard to be in Roswell and not make an alien joke, but the home of Nancy Lopez hosts the course she grew up on. For a novice like me, that in itself made it worth playing.
A public course, reasonably priced and in good shape made it a memorable experience.
Following in Nancy Lopez' footsteps
I'm told this was the course Nancy Lopez grew up playing, but it's of course, different than when she played the course in the 1970s. Renovated in the last few years from its original nine-hole configuration, the back nine is particularly strong three strong par 5s and some signature water features. Being in Roswell, this muni takes advantage of the alien theme with a couple items in the pro shop, but it certainly isn't overdone. Bentgrass greens also rolled very well.
