Pine Hills Country Club

About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Reviews
Great public course
I try to play here at least once a week. The course is in great shape from tee box to greens. It is challenging especially the back 9. Pace of play is usually good although a ranger would be a good investment. Staff is great. JC restaurant is a most visit after your round.
What a great day
We play many courses on the North Fork of Long Island. First time here. The course and greens were in fantastic shape. The clubhouse was well equipped and the bar and the food were great. Will be back.
Great Track
What great value course in perfect shape. Bar and restaurant fun. Give it a shot.
Great place
It’s hard to criticize such a good golf course. Fairways were a little long but I’m sure that is heat related. Greens were not fast but very true. As usual the traps were all raked and really easy to play out of. One of the real go to places in the Riverhead/Manorville area
Horrible
Would not recommend. Starter was rude Andy yelling across holes, pace of play was brutal. Two some stuck behind TWO two somes of older females and in front of a four some. Patiently waited all day making sure not to hit up on the women as any respectful golfer would. Starter asks us what our hold up is and why we are taking so long. Left on the 15th hole. Not coming back all because we didn’t want to hit up on the women.
Worth the trip
Tees fairways. Greens and bunkers were terrific. Early tee time and played under 4 hours great value. Great day.
Easily one of the top 10 Public courses on Long Island
No two holes are alike, each hole is special . Very few residences along the course. One of the best practice areas on Long Island, driving range, chipping area and putting green.
Pail’s Review
The course was in great shape even though it had just rained
Front nine was straight forward while the back nine offered many challenges.
Fair course
JC afterwards was a treat with amazing food
Good outing
Had a foursome that tee off at 7:10
We had good weather and played at a good pace. The course was in great shape. We enjoyed our day and finished off with a good burger and some cold beers.
A must play
Wide open and forgiving course. Greens aren’t that fast, but roll true. We were stuck behind a few really slow foursomes and they really weren’t pushed by the rangers. I also like that we got complimentary range balls on a grass, not mat, range
Pine
Ive been looking forward to playing here for a while and i was disappointed. A absolutely beautiful course with a great practice area plus the best greens ive played in a month. Thats the positive and now the negative. Pace was brutal, no one checking or moving groups along, had people on the course that aren’t skilled enough to play. This place has a great course but doesnt do anything to bring you back i mean they didnt even have a beverage girls come around
Very happy
Really nice course, fairways and greens were in really good shape even with this heatwave.. will def go back, the starter was super friendly as well. Only issue we had were the two pricks behind us. There was def a backup in front of us of 3 foursomes and these two fellas who refused to pair up with the twosome behind them felt the need to hit up on us repeatedly. We do not play slow by any means and when golf balls are flying past your cart as your pulling away from the greens that’s usually a confrontation waiting to happen but it was too hot for that. I had a 1021 tee time so if you know who was after us maybe you oughta ban them from your beautiful course!!! Will be back for sure and my Pine Hills ball will be put in the ball display case with the others!!
good greens
the greens are in good condition pace of play was bad until the back 9 there are holes you can score on friendly staff
Always in great shape
We teed off at 8, there was no place to get food or drink. Even at the turn, 10 o'clock, I was told the restaurant opened at 11, but they did have water, and I settled for a stale bag of chips .
Great experience
The course is in great shape the pace of play is as good as there is and they treat you with respect and kindness probably the best value on all of Long Island I can’t wait to play there again
Resorts World Catskills Stay & Play Package

I am sorry you had such a bad experience when visiting our golf course. We did have a large outing yesterday which may have caused the pace of play to be sub par. If you could please e-mail myself @ josephflanagnaiv@gmail.com I would like to talk to you on how we could improve your experience going forward.
