Dogwood/Oak Tree at Middle Island Country Club

About
Middle Island Country Club sits almost at the center of Long Island and has been one of the area's most popular public golf courses since first opening in 1965. The 27-hole course is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The entire layout was carefully carved from 225 acres of the Lustengarten Nursery. Middle Island's Dogwood/Oak combination features narrow fairways lined with trees. The greens on the front nine are the most challenging of any of the three nines. They have subtle breaks that leave many golfers wondering how they "just missed" it. The Oak nine is almost as tough, but you will get a slight break. It requires careful course management since there are many doglegs that can make it play longer than what's indicated on the scorecard.

My enjoyable Saturday
Was hoping to get out to play golf go to Corus Star said if we are ready we can go which was a few minutes early and the rest of the day was great thank you goodbye
Getting better
Clearly they’re injection some money into this place and it shows. Keeps getting better. New signage on tee boxes, clearing trees away to really open up some of the longer holes and generally tidying up the entire course. Greens in great shape and fairways are excellent.
Good
Better than used to be. Guys in head of us real slow, not the places fault. Greens were being aerated I think. Had potential
Truly the worst course on Long Island
Insanely expensive for one of the worst courses on Long Island. Truly shocking. Avoid at all costs. I never leave reviews and got compelled to do so based on rude staff (starter), slow pace of play 5.5hr round, pretty much putting on sand and not well kept.
Not worth the money.
This course charges a premium even in the off season. The course is never in any type of condition that warrants the price they charge. 65$ with a cart would be a fair price for this place.
Has potential
Started off with a snippy starter.. could be a bit easygoing. Could of been a bad morning for him. A lot of work being done to make the club house and around it new and updated. So no lunch just snacks. However course was nice greens were just addresses so Sandy and wet but dryer up as it got closer to noon. I’d definitely come and play again. Good first round
