A good course in Southern Long Island
Played there many times and every time feeling good. Low twilight rate but wonderful playing with the nice layout and tricky greens
Great challenging course
This is a great course of a challenge. We’ll maintained and the amenities are satisfactory.
Perfect but too slow
Every time satisfy from this course
But sometimes
Young peoples drinking too much beers
So
Take long time
Last time take 5 hour 30 minute
All staffs very very friendly kindly
Price is very reasonable
Thank you very much all
Well Cut Greens!
Greens are Good Conditions and fairways are well kepted!!
Waterlogged
Everywhere was waterlogged, the fairways the semi rough, the rough, some of the ponds over flowed.
Pros: decent pace, 90% of greens in very good condition, staff all nice
I would recommend maybe late in the summer but not any other time
Horrible conditions
The course was in terrible condition. Bunkers looked like they haven’t been touch all season fairways sucked and the rough was mostly sand and dirt and greens were patchy. Should be ashamed charging full price considering the condition
The course is fair. Some spots of the fairways are patchy but the greens are in good shape!
Greens were trash. Tee boxes were trash
Greens were trash as well as the tee boxes. The sewage treatment plant is a nice touch. I played here because it is close to work. Would not recommend.
Always challenge with nature
Suddenly shower with windy fight
I’m really fun this course
Sometimes need marshals
Cuz slow player take a long time
Every thing convenient
Thank you very much
Worst course of all the $55-70 cost range.
First time playing Bergen.
Greens rolled great and u can easily read them and make putts and improve on your game.
Pin placement was an absolute joke. On the absolute edge of the green with no room to roll past. It felt like an April fools day joke of a placement. Like put it in the mid left, mid right n slight back left. Don't do extreme placements.
Fairways were great n full. But geese poop everywhere. If you play irons only 7-pw n just go 120yrds at a time this is a great course for u. Any slice or fade in ur game n u might as well play somewhere else.
Zero rough. Just dirt, rocks, pebbles. On a par 3 I went a little left and was in a patch of dirt finishing the hole with an 8. My 54° wedge couldn't get under the ball in any of the rough areas bc of the dirt.
No sand in the bunkers. All rocks. In fairways I understand but the green side bunkers had rocks in them. I'm very good out of the sand. Perfected that part of my game. Easy outs like hitting free throws. Honestly I just picked up the ball n placed it on the green I'm not destroying my wedges over a round of golf.
Tee boxes were bumpy, patchy, and not even. I don't require much in this department but I don't want to be hitting on a hill.
I recommend skipping Bergen. Stonebridge is much nicer for the same amount of money. Or even crab Meadow if u can get a tee time. Although crab has smaller greens u can work ur long game better.
-above avg golfer and play 60x a yr
Greatly improved recently
The fairways are in much better condition now and the greens are great
Nice view
Sea side layout always windy but funny challenge
Staffs very friendly
This course one of my favorite lovely golf club
Nice Links Course
Bergen Point is a true links designed golf course and if you like links golf this place is for you. HOWEVER because of its proximity to the Great South Bay the course doesn't drain well so don't play it in rainy weather or the day after a major rain storm. The course plays tougher on windy days. It is a Suffolk County Municipal so don't expect pristine conditions. My 1 complaint is the 18th hole which is arguably the best hole on the course. It's played as a par 4 and is virtually impossible to par. The senior tee is 420 yds, The hole should be made into a Par 5 and there is room to move the tees back 50 yds. if need be.
