Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink
The course was fine. The fact that there was no water on the course and no cart service however is simply unacceptable. I understand it has rained a lot recently but to have your tee times scheduled so close together (there was a :15 past the hour and we were :30 past the hour and there was another group in between all 4somes) there is no surprise that we didn’t start til 30 minutes after our tee time.
Pleasantly surprised
Course in much better shape then a few weeks back. Teed off at 515 and finished 18 holes. Usually not crowded and when it good shape it’s a fun course. 38$ twilight was nice
I grew up in the area and moved when I was younger but I came from out of town for the PGA Championship with a buddy and we found this course randomly on GolfNow app and it didn’t disappoint at all. Beautiful spread out course with little creeks and crevices everywhere makes the course challenging but in a great way. Not too many blind shots more false blind shots than anything just to make you think and wonder. Be ready for wind which adds a lovely element to the game. Only downfall was the course was a little wet but when it rains for 3 days that’s to be expected. I would recommend this course to anyone in a heartbeat.
A bit wet...yet nice
Though it had been raining for the last few days...the course was nice to play...enjoyed it very much....
Very good course at bargain cost
Bergen Point Golf course pretty good! the price is reasonably low, the condition is good , several holes are challenging (long par 4 with gusty wind!). They do have drive range with a bunker, good for practice. In general, I like this course !
Not worth $68.
The course was not in good shape and the greens were horrible not worth the $68.
Tremendous deal
Went down for twilight paid $38 with cart took us 3 hours to play as a threesome, will definitely repeat i was also able to catch a free buffet in the bar food was fantastic chicken parm and pasta. Paid under 10 bucks for the 2 drinks. $48 bucks for 18 holes, a full meal, and 2 beers.
Not bad for April.
Course layout is challenging. Near the water so windy. Not the best shape but will try again in a few weeks. Already airrratted. Not bad for mid April. Good value.
No thanks
The only reason I consider Bergen is it’s about 5 minutes away. The Course is in horrible condition, it’s like a swamp also it is completely flooded most of the time I go. Timber Point is in much better shape, nicer layout, a better value, and the staff is much more accommodating. Groundskeeper must have went on vacation for the winter...$60 to play bergen is a joke
Nice Golf Course!
I played Bergen Point this past weekend and had a wonderful experience. Playing the course from the tips and the south shore wind created a very challenging 18 holes. The staff was courteous and professional and greens, bunkers, tee boxes, fairways and rough were in phenomenal shape. I put this course up against any public course on Long Island.
Spend your money anywhere else
I used to live on LI and played many of the Suffolk county courses but never this one. When I visited this past weekend I unfortunately got stuck playing Bergen Point. Our morning started with the rudest pro shop cashier I've ever experienced. The starter wasn't much better but at least had a little sense of humor. When we finally got off (30 minutes after scheduled tee time) we ran into backups at every hole of our 5 and a half hour round, sometimes with 3 groups lined up at the tee box. The course was in horrible condition with some fairways having more dirt and pebbles than grass. Greens were absolutely terrible, showing little/no sign of maintenance. This could be the worst course I've ever played in 30 years of playing golf all over the country. Do yourself a favor and take your $68 somewhere else
3.5 hour round good fairways and greens
I havn't played bergen in about 15 years and that is because it used to be horrible. Geese droppings everywhere and not well maintained. I got wind that things have changed for the better and decided to give it a crack. Got on with no wait and let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised at how good of condition the course was in. They were re-doing a couple of bunkers while i was there so a few spots where roped off and it may have actually helped my score a bit. The course might have the hardest par 3's on the island when the wind is up and some par 5's that you can certainly score well on with a good drive. Give this place a look trust me you wont be disappointed
