Grayhawk Golf Club's Raptor Course in Scottsdale: A demanding PGA Tour venue cut from the Sonoran Desert

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Opening a year after the original Talon Course at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Grayhawk's Raptor Course is a striking Tom Fazio design cut from the Sonoran Desert.

The Raptor plays 7,135 yards from the championship tees and runs over hills and natural washes. In typical Fazio fashion, bunkers are plentiful and monstrous, though the fairways primarily play wider than on your average course. The par threes are especially demanding, none more so than the 230-yard, uphill 13th hole, guarded by a massive bunker on the right side of the green.

Grayhawk Golf Club features all the facilities you'd expect at a PGA Tour venue. You'll find Phil's Grill, named after tour star Phil Mickelson, a pro shop, finer dining and a practice area.

North of downtown Scottsdale, Grayhawk Golf Club is a short drive from Troon North and the Boulders Resort.
