The Bunga Raya course at Saujana Golf & Country Club in Malaysia

Located just outside of Malaysia's largest city, Kuala Lumpur, Saujana Golf & Country Club is home to two of the country's best golf courses: The Palm and the Bunga Raya.

Both were designed by American architect Ronald Fream, who has spent the majority of his time crafting courses abroad. And while the Palm course is a host to the European Tour's Maybank Malaysian Open, the Bunga Raya remains a very worthy follow-up, playing just 100 yards shorter with just as much excitement.

The course is separated into two parts. Both nines have holes on either side of railroad tracks. On one side, nearest to the clubhouse, the holes are a bit flatter and more wide open. On the other side, the land becomes more undulating and more lush with jungle and plant life.

Both the ninth and 18th holes head straight uphill toward the looming clubhouse, which features fantastic facilities, from the locker room to the lunch patio, which serves both Malaysian and Western cuisine.

You're in for one of Malaysia's best golf experiences when you roll up to Saujana Golf & Country Club, even if you don't get on the Palm Course. The Bunga Raya, while just about 100 yards shorter (6,819 yards), certainly holds its own thanks to tremendous shot values and terrain variations cut through dense jungle.
