Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta
About Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta
Located on beautiful Banderas Bay, Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta are two well-known all-inclusive resorts that offer a wide variety of amenities for every type of traveler. Because they’re sister properties under the same ownership, guests can enjoy luxury suites with garden, golf course, or ocean views at either location, along with transportation and access to amenities at both resorts. Casa Velas is an adults-only resort that offers a peaceful, upscale atmosphere with three restaurants and bars, several pools and Jacuzzis with concierge service and VIP access to the exclusive Táu Beach Club. Guests can unwind at the world-class luxury spa, which features treatments and hydrotherapy circuits, or stay active with swimming, tennis, beach volleyball and a full fitness center. Right next door, Velas Vallarta is a family-friendly resort with various restaurants, daily buffets and gourmet dining options, along with fully stocked minibars. Guests can stroll through lush tropical gardens, relax on the beach, swim in one of the three pools, or enjoy a game of tennis or basketball. There’s also a Kids’ Club with fun, supervised activities designed just for younger guests. Golfers staying at either resort have access to two nearby clubs. Marina Vallarta Club de Golf, designed by Joe Finger adjacent to Casa Velas, is an 18-hole course that offers incredible views of the Sierra Madre mountains, Banderas Bay and the tropical coastline. A half-hour cab ride away, Vista Vallarta Golf Club features two 18-hole championship courses, one by Jack Nicklaus and one by Tom Weiskopf. The Nicklaus course sits at a higher elevation and offers panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta, the marina and the bay, while the Weiskopf course winds through jungle, ravines and creeks for a more rugged, scenic round.Facts

Save your money
Don’t play this course. Crappy all around course conditions.
Many better options in the PV area to play…Villa Vallarta, El Tigre, Vindanta, Punta Mita.
Not worth the time or money
We found this course to be BY FAR the worst course we played in Puerto Vallarta. The course conditions were terrible with damaged greens, brown fairways -‘d rocky sand traps.
The course doesn’t have GPS on the carts but was fairly well marked in the fairways and cart paths. Staff was friendly which is the only reason I didn’t give this dump a 1st at across the board.
I’ve played both courses at Villa Vallarta, El Tigre, both courses at Vindanta and Punta Mita and will NEVER play Marina Vallarta again…..even for free
ist time at Marina Vallarta
Course was decent staff were friendly club house was closed when we came off the course was disappointing
Possibly the best course in Puerto Vallarta
This is an outstanding Golfer's course. Interesting layout with some unique holes, memorable shots, nice up and down terrain with challenges along the way, but nothing crazy hard that'll make you want to shake your head. Debatable which is better - this course or the Nicklaus on the same property. Either way, you can't go wrong. The staff, range, carts w/ GPS, views of mountains and jungle all make for a really fun and interesting track. Definitely recommend!
3 hr 45 min round
We got out as a twosome a little early and by the time we finished, there were 4 open holes behind us. Thanks for letting us go before the slow pokes!
Wather
I played at 1 p.m., at each hole, there was someone watering and you had to play between the sprinklers, and no marshal to check the forsom which are very slow!
fun venue
Fun time. New greens on back 9 seemed a little slower than front, but nice
Slow greens, good value
Lots of wildlife. Pace of play decent for late afternoon. Greens were sloooww.
It was good to be playing golf in January!
In rough shape
Interesting. Tricky. Lots of water. Biggest complaint is the noise from planes and construction. Greens were great shape. Fairways were sketchy. Friendly staff.
Fun immaculate track
This course is a little tighter than Nicklaus.
Greens run true. Really enjoyed the layout.
Great service.
Caddies are great.
The caddies are great and really help with course management.
I played both courses and like them both the same.
Greens ran true. Pace of play was perfect.
The restaurant staff was top notch.
Love the fact that you can call the bev cart using gps on the golf cart!!
