Decent Course
I enjoyed the course overall. However, it was very wet due to the recent hurricane remnants. I liked the layout.
The main issue i had was that the course was not well maintained in areas. The tee boxes were overused so that you were teeing off in dirt or mud. The greens were in great shape and the fairways were between fair to good.
Given the conditions of the course for the price, i would not recommend the course. Drop $30 to $40 and maybe, especially since there were a lot of other courses in the area that were more in the lower price range..
I played Pinehurst #2, and that was a course worth the money.
Awful
I could name 15 other courses in the area that are in far better shape at half the cost. I would strongly recommend playing else where. Awful fairways. Tee boxes look like midway par 3 and they are still charging 140+. Absolute joke. Won’t be playing here again
Golf with my son
Good time we had a very slow group in front of us but we enjoyed the day
Decent course but not worth $130.
It was nice a course but not on the same level as Lighthouse point or Baywood
Nice course but over priced.
The course is in good shape and the layout is fun. Greens were smooth but a little slow. Only negative is the course is over priced.
Well run and well maintained
Excellent Staff, well maintained course. Pace of play was great. Paired with another twosome who was friendly and nice to play with. No pool noodles but we left the flags in and didn't have to touch much.
Bear Trap Review
Very nice course with three nines. Good condition which will improve as we move into summer. Still some wet areas due to high amount of rain in area lately. Greens fairly large so some putts can be lengthy. Very well maintained at all times.
Got there and no one was there we played but would have like to buy 6 pack for our round but no one was there
Overpriced
For the amount they charge. It’s no where near that in value. I would look to play on another course. Not a fan of the lay out or the staff.
Great place to play. Very friendly staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great practice areas. Course was in very good shape even after some heavy rain in the days before. Still some soft wet spots as expected . The greens rolled very nicely.
Taking good care
I have played these three nines many times over the years and I have to say course conditions were very good. The folks managing the courses accommodated several semi-large groups including a 12 some wanting a nine hole replay without disturbing the rest of the players out on the course. It took us a little over 4 hours to complete the round There was some waiting but not bad. 19th hole is great. Lots of TVs inside for watching sports and outside the patio has a beautiful view. Check GOlf Now for special prices, they change often. And beware the Oceanview PD speedtraps. Recently I was over the speed limit for all of ten seconds and they pulled me over like I was John Dillinger. Way over-reacted and wrote me a whopping ticket. Very unhappy about this. I think twice about going through Oceanview anymore.
Disappointed
We have played Bear Trap several times , when vacationing in the area. This year the conditions on the course were not good. The normally plush fairways were pretty torn up. Many bare spots and very thin overall. In addition, we had made a reservation ahead of time, arrived early, but some pushy guy came along and insisted that he get out on the course. They let them go out ahead of us! We didn’t appreciate that.
Miscommunication between golfnow and course.
Course told me golf now wanted them to collect fee at course and fee was charged by golfnow direct. They honored the email confirmation and did not charge me.
