Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Ocean View is conveniently located just three miles west of Bethany Beach along the Eastern Shore. The club offers 27 championship holes that are divided into three different nines, Grizzly, Kodiak, and Black Bear. The holes are played in three different combinations. Each nine has a unique character but every course shares winding bentgrass fairways lined with native wetland grasses and a landscape of sandy dunes and grassy hollows. The Grizzly/Kodiak Course is the shortest of the three combinations but it still has the same level of challenge. Strategically placed bunkers come into play along the oversized greens and water hazards also come into play on a few holes There is an interesting variety of holes that each require a different strategy.

Played with my 2 nephews.Course was good.Enjoyed playing there!
Bumpy greens
It was a great day in March to get out and play with the weather being as nice as it was, got to the course pro shop staff was very friendly along with the cart guys. Play with three other gentlemen, and we had a fantastic day.
It was my first time to the course. I will definitely come back and play it a little bit later. My only. Negative was the greens had been punched probably two weeks prior so you could barely put on them without the ball looking like it was in a pinball machine bouncing around.
The other thing that I found odd was when we made the turn, I went in to get a Gatorade or Powerade and they had neither.
Place a plate and course layout were excellent like I said I will definitely come back and play this course again because I think it will only get better
Great courses
Enjoyed the round - really nice, well layed out and challenging courses. The time of year we played made it a little tough to play meaning the traps were wet and there was a lot of goose poop close to ponds. However, I have played during the summer and goose poop was not an issue. Has a nice club house and good off season prices at the restaurant. New golf carts with GPS and synthetic leather seats were nice to have as well.

Wonderful day of golf. A bit wet in spots but it was expected after the thaw.

course(s) in generally good shape. Greens still recovering from late season 2025 aeration plugs and did not track true. And range not open due to machine dispenser being frozen/jammed up. No Balls. Even the worst Pro's warms up a bit so amateurs definitely need it in order to have a respectable & pleasant round.
Enjoyable
Wide fairways large greens. Plenty of bunkers and water hazards. Very enjoyable to play.
The 2 toughest 9 hole courses, Black Bear and Grisley
The courses are long and tough. An unforgiving 18 hole but a good challenge.
