Goose Pond Lake course
First time to play and I wasn’t disappointed. Can’t wait to go back. Hopefully the course will have some more “Hot Deals”. Beautiful scenery with Lake Guntersville surrounding the entire course. .
New Greens
Scenic course that runs along the backwaters of the Tennessee River with views of the Goosepond Colony Marina. Its a little early yet. But the new greens installed last summer should be in excellent shape soon. They were aerated and top dressed this week, but still putted decent. I'm looking forward to playing more golf at Goosepond Colony.
Young Greens
New greens. Rolled good but still hard to hold. Fairways very tight still needs some warmer weather but overall good
Highly Recommended
Enjoyable and picturesque course, great price, and good service. I’ll be back and highly recommend the course to others.
Greens are the best
Once you find the green, you have a great chance of scoring. The greens are pure. They undulate. So you must read them well. The only problem with the course is when the course is mown, the grass clippings are left on the fairways. The clippings rot on the fairways after it rains. Consequently, a golfer rarely gets a clean lie to launch a second shot. It is very disappointing and disheartening to find a fairway off the tee, and be left with a miserable lie because the grounds crew doesn't bother to attach a grass clippings basket to the mower. This cheapens the golf course and rouines a players mood.
Great conditions for this time of year
Course was in the best condition of any I have played this year. Greens were superb!
Smooth Greens
Plantation never disappoints, great forgiving course, true roll
Improvements
Had been a year since playing….The Lake course at Goose Pond drains better than Valley Hill and Cherokee Ridge in late winter, so while it was semi wet it was really just on a few fairways. So this is a good place to play after a rainy week. Upgrades included new barrier posts adjacent to club house and driving range, they have repaired and replaced many sections of the cart paths where roots had made a bumpy ride(concrete replaced). In other bumpy cart path areas the seams have been ground down to smooth the ride. Awesome new signs for directions around the course. These are fairly slow greens but NO bare spots.
Beginner friendly course, that's always seems to be in good shape.
Fun Course with Great Greens
This is a fun course, it is very open and not too long at all. Greens were phenomenal on the day I played
Replay $$$
Overall really nice course for this time of yr. Greens were perfect. The only issue we had was the replay cost of $33/person (9 holes) when we only paid $50 for my wife and I total for 18. Reason given was due to getting such a good Hot Deal cost booking on GN for our round they had to charge us more. I’ve played for the past 15 yrs and this was the first time I’ve heard this explanation.
