Coming back
I'll be back. One my of new favorites no question.
Beautiful Course
This was my first time playing here. I had heard great things since moving to Birmingham, and it did not disappoint. The course is very open with plenty of room for the average golfer to find fairways and play an enjoyable round. Would recommend giving it a try.
Truly a must play!
The course is playable and offers various looks and elevation throughout the round. The staff is second to none. There are simply not enough words to do this course the justice it truly deserves. Check it out and you to will know, enjoy!
Hidden Gem
Amazing course, facilities and friendly staff. Course was in excellent condition and greens rolled pure. I will definitely travel back to play and will likely make the next friend’s golf trip to this course!
Nice Tract—Fabulous Conditions
Golf was as good as it gets. Service in the Inn Pub was the worst—after 25 minutes we left
Heaven On Earth
Like Heaven On Earth! Great Staff! Best Practice Facility. Course is Always in mint condition. The fairways on 16 and 18 are Plush! My Fav course to Play!
An Absolute Pleasure!!!
This place is an absolute beauty. Course was a little wet making it play long but greens are always in fantastic shape. A must play!
Amazing course
I’ve always heard amazing things about this place, and the course is even better than the hype. It’s designed so perfectly into the landscape, and the conditions were immaculate. Hole #5 especially is one of the most amazing individual holes I’ve ever seen. The staff friendliness and accommodation was also second to none. It’s a public course, with a country club level of service.
My only complaint was pace of play. The course was on a 50 minute delay and was cart path only. It took almost 6 hours total to play 18, which was the longest round I’ve ever been a part of. That was also with almost no one in front of us, and no one on our heels. The delay was understandable because of heavy frost, but it really didn’t feel like it needed to be cart restricted beyond a 90° rule and no fairways. This course isn’t well designed for walking, so it was impossible to pick up the pace.
Aside from the pace though, 10/10. It’s an unforgettable course and I look forward to coming back next time I’m back in the area.
One of the best in Alabama
Unbelievably beautiful course! Tee times are spaced out so pace of play is good. Course is very playable but can be long depending on the tees.
5 Star Everything
I cannot imagine anyone ever playing this course and not walk away saying “THAT WAS FUN”!!! The course, the grounds, EVERY square inch of Pursell Farms is truly an experience. I used to work there and I can tell you first hand, behind the curtain (Wizard of OZ reference) is just as amazing as you would hope. Congratulations to Farm Links, David & Ellen Pursell and everyone there that makes everything so gosh darn awesome! Oh, and look for Martin Pursell… all the Pursell’s are amazing but he’s super amazing
Need a Marshall on the course to keep people on pace
The course was great but we were stuck behind players that couldn’t keep up with the player in front of them. It was very frustrating to see player hitting multiple balls from one location instead of just advancing forward. Learn to play ready golf.
Great course
Absolute amazing course, would recommend to everyone go and visit. Course is amazing with spectacular views.
One of the best in Alabama
Farmlinks is a totally wonderful experience from the time that you take your clubs out of your trunk to putting them back in. Let's start with the terrific lunch and wonderful service both in the dining room and then in the pro shop. It's clear that these folks really appreciate you visiting their facility.
And that course...what a great layout! Without a doubt, Farmlinks might be the most immaculately maintained public golf course that I have ever played! The greens, tee boxes, bunkers, and fairways were all pristine.
The course itself has a number of memorable holes, but 2 of the par 3's, in particular, will stick with you throughout your golfing days. The par 3 5th hole is one of the most challenging, and beautiful holes I've ever played. There are a number of elevated tee boxes to choose from as you peer down on a green that's some 175 feet below you. It's just spectacular! The par 3 17th hole holds its own to with a long carry over a lake to a smallish green.
If you get a chance to venture to Sylacauga, AL, be sure to stop and play Farmlinks!
There's a reason it's rated number 1
Just an amazing track. Beer is expensive from the cart so get it in the clubhouse. Also don't miss the Barrell of chilled apples on the first tee. Greens roll smooth and don't have much break to them. Just loved my day here.
