Perfect Day at the Biltmore Links Course!
We had a brilliant day of golf as the course conditions were great, and the weather was perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only drawback was construction around the golf shop, and the restaurant was closed, so we had to go off site for lunch. We will definitely be back!
Great golf course and great staff
This was my first time out on the Biltmore links course we had numerous troubles with our golf cart all throughout the first nine holes. The cart electronically had something massively wrong with it. It kept stalling and stopping, and not moving and telling me that I wasn’t on the cartpath when I was, and it was not cartpath only either. Aside from the issues with the cart that made us stop playing after nine holes, the staff were very accommodating and helpful in resolving the situation and the course is in phenomenal shape and it’s a very nice layout and the greens were also in excellent condition I will definitely play here again….
18 holes jammed on small area
The 'new' course is very tight with no space between fairways and many holes where the party teeing off ahead is hitting back toward following group on the green. One approach shot rolled slowly off back of green and was on the next tee box it was so close. Looked like an old municipal course jammed on too small a lot with just out and back fairways. Disappointing.
Links course not worth it
First, let me say that the staff was incredibly professional, friendly and helpful. The practice facility was excellent.
Now to the rest:
--Pace of play was on the slow side--over 4.5 hours.
--We played the back side, first. It was interesting, challenging, and in good shape.
--The front nine, however was awful. The tees were in terrible condition--often with large patches of bare ground we had to work around. The greens were concrete hard and wouldn't hold shots. The bunkers, generally, were as hard as a parking lot--barely could leave footprints when walking in them. Impossible to make shots around the green--even with a wedge with minimal bounce.
--Finally, I stopped at course bathrooms twice--on both nines. In each case, the paper towels in BOTH bathrooms were out. Seriously, the Biltmore can't keep paper towels supplied???? I can honestly say I have never had that experience in 50+ years of golf.
During the week, my visiting guests and I played Corte Bella, Falcon Dunes, and Sundance. Of the four, this was the most expensive course and we felt this was by far the worst experience. I would call the front nine a "goat track", but that would be an insult to goats.
Mostly Fun
The course was in good shape, very challenging pin positions for the day, greens rolled well and were quick. The on course staff was poor at best; beverage cart drivers had cart wide open speed, did not stop when seeing players on tee box, one tried to pass us near back nine bathroom and ran over curbing and rocks. On course marshal drove by us on the 14th by driving over the top of the tee box with no conversation at all. On the 16th hole, a different staff member came racing up on us in the fairway to check our cart numbers, then veered off towards the tee box. As a course operator, some refresher training for the beverage cart girls is in need for sure.
great
nice course, gonna be cool to see the construction done soon hopefully. fun layout, tough greens. you can roll off a lot but great course
Favorite Course
I have been playing this course for years and love it. I used to play it a lot more in the past, but they built a new clubhouse and are building a new restaurant and have kind of priced me out of it. I’m sure they raised prices to pay for the new additions. This has been the 1st time I’ve played it in a couple years. Hopefully they will lower the price so I can play it more often.
Not so much
I was excited to play after redesign...what I found was a lot of holes were just shortened or lengthened or tee boxes and/or greens moved....course is a bit more confusing as fairways all go together...I prefer the Links
Disappointed with the Estates course.
The layout was confusing. Some of the tee boxes did not make sense and did not line up with the hole markers. Holes ran next to each other and people were hitting into each other. The first par 3 on the back 9 had a ridiculous pin placement. Several of the greens were in bad shape. We will not return.
Too slow
Need a starter and a course marshall.
Desperately slow play despite not that many players
Biltmore Links
Haven’t played this course in a few years, but it was in OK SHAPE!! Greens wer very firm and hard to hold. Pace of play very good… under 4 hours
Nice remodel of club house/pro shop. Restaurant looks nice as well but not open yet
Links course at the Biltmore
Please have people navigate from the first nine holes of the Links course to the back 9. I ended up on the other course! Better directions signage and help from the employees!
And get that restaurant done!!
Incoming!!!
The front desk staff was very friendly. The bar cart girls was very snotty and had attitude.
There were balls flying all over the course and it was very dangerous to be anywhere on the course accept for number one and number 10.
What a waste of $100.00. I have never seen so many stray balls and golfers having no clue what they are doing. Pass of play was extremely poor.
Not going back ever!!
Late afternoon special
Played Biltmore Estate Course late in the day so only got in 13 holes (as expected). Course was a fairly simple back and forth layout, not very imaginative. Course conditions were good. Not at all crowded.
