AZ Summer Golf
Typical summer golf here at Golden Hills. Greens and around the greens in solid shape, greens were fast, and did not hold a shot, play short and let it roll. Now the bad, the staff was very unattenative the guy with the carts was very rude and had to explain that I have a tee time and I need a cart, he just looked at me like I was crazy. I know it's hot, but let's get the tee times off on time please>
Good for the price
The conditions were par for the price. I see some improvements since last time I was there. The cart guy outside sells buckets for tips cheaper than inside. They don't have any water for drinking out on the course, so bring extra for yourself. The cart girls are nice. There is some mud out on the course which means they are really working on growing more grass. It was adequate this time and I bet it's better next time. If the price stays about the same I'll be back.
Great Value
Course is much better than previous years so the value for money is excellent.
Summer Morning
It’s evident that the Golden Hills groundskeeper s are working hard to repair the course back to its glory days. So I applaud the effort back they need to cut back on over watering as it causes more harm than good and really impact the play of the ball.
Pace of play
This course could use some real management.. No ranger and we played behind a jerk who "works here" that drove his cart on the greens and took 30 foot mulligan putts while we watched in the heat. Find a better run course, there are plenty around here.
It’s a marsh!
The greens and collars are in good condition but the fairways and rough have standing water . It was so humid that I thought I was in the Midwest with 99% humidity and 99 degrees. It was exhausting!
Pretty good deal for the money
Sure this course struggles to get grass growing everywhere you need it but it seems to be getting better. I play it weekly all winter and sporadically during the hot season. I played and practiced for four hours on a decent course for $20.
Good value
There are a few rough patches the greens but for the money and this year (other courses are really struggling keeping greens in good shape) this course is ok. I’d play it again.
Crummy but great price
It’s your average crummy course with a super slow pace of play (you’ll get stuck waiting for people at every hole), but the price is pretty hard to beat. It’s a great course for beginners.
Solid course for the money
Paid 23$ for 18 holes of golf, cant complain! Was frustrated they had a league that started off the back and two groups were so slow they pushed our groups back 20+ minutes. Not ideal for folks who were looking to beat the heat. Much better conditions (still below average) than previous years
terrible
i paid for 18 with cart earlier today and everything was going good till the 5th hole , i love kids and have kids of my own , but to have a 7 year old driving a cart while the dad is teeing off multiple balls and playing all of them is insane especially while i am just sitting 10 minutes waiting for 1 person who is playing multiple balls , no ranger to enforce pace of play or anything so i just left and even though it was an excellent price i will not be returning ever .
No ranger
There was a group ahead of us who were very slow. There was no ranger to hurry them along a bit.
Fun course
Overall this course is good if you’re just looking to get reps and swings in. Nothing overly difficult, and opportunities to score. Definitely needs better upkeep, greens were a little rough, fairways had some bad spots that were muddy, and a lack of of grass. Yes, it’s very inexpensive to play, which shows in the upkeep. Not a bad course, just wouldn’t pay much to play there.
I would of rated it 0 if possible
It’s took 3:30 hours to play 9 holes terrible condition total s hole
