Great combo course but groundskeeper is rude
I really enjoyed the layout of this course. Resort golf for the front 9 and desert golf on the back 9. Challenging tee box positions and fast greens. Had an issue with the groundskeeper who would not stop mowing on Hole 7 while we clearly saw we were coming up to the green and there was a group waiting to tee behind us. My husband went ahead and hit and the groundskeeper went right where his ball landed and RAN IT OVER!! What a jerk! Coming back to cart return, we saw the same groundskeeper on Hole 1 also holding up the group trying to tee off and I told the cart staff. The response was "Yeah sometimes they just don't care" um if it is a known issue, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
Would like a refund
We tried to cancel our tee time for a number of reasons and were told that we'd be charged full price regardless. The course was packed and pace of play was very slow. We played for over 4 hours and barely made it through 12 holes before having to leave to make a flight.
Little bit of everything
Really enjoyed this track. Course map begins in the heart of a condo arena, takes you up into the desert foothills for several holes, and ends with a spectacular panoramic view of phoenix area. Thoroughly enjoyed the design.
Do not book this!!!!
I don't normally do this but do not book this course. By far the worst course we've ever played. Worst $150 ever spent. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were green dust and pace was horrible. Recommend 20 $50 courses much better than this.
Golf Outing
The staff was very friendly however for the fist time playing the course I have say the greens were not in that great of shape for the price. Would be a tough sell to get our group to go back.
Painted greens
Haven’t seen this before in such capacity. The greens are painted, very hard, the ball doesn’t spin there at all. There are better courses for cheaper and much better courses if you are willing to pay 20-40 bucks more.
Not a well kept course but still fun
This course is usually in not very good shape but the staff is awesome and the layout is super fun and unique.
Terrible greens
Fairways like concrete
Greens were terrible
Staff could care less offered no discounts
Round took almost five hours as well.
For this time of season not worth the money
I have played Arizona Grand over 2 dozen times over the past 10 years. We had a 12:31 tee time but were sent out 10 min early only to get to hole 2 and have a 3 group pile up. Apparently all the groups were sent out early. Poor course management. This lasted 2 more holes until we jumped two holes to find a better pace of play, only to get to hole 9 and run into another 3 group pile up. Only saving grace was the ranger whom tried to chat up the players a fix the pace of play. Was super friendly and continued to apologize for the slow pace. On top of the slow play the course was in really poor condition for this time of year. Tee boxes were poorly maintained, a lot of dry patches and mud at the same time on fairways and greens were inconsistent and did not roll true. Made for a frustrating round at a course I genuinely usually enjoy. If you’re thinking about playing Grand I would recommend you skip it. Not worth the $100 price tag and you will leave undervalued and disappointed. In contrast I played whirlwind the day prior for the same price and it was immaculate- spend your hard earned bucks on another course, you will thank me later.
Fun Day
Great time on a "Resort Course". Some funky holes and you don't always need your driver. Fairways and Greens in great shape.
