Pace of play on weekends not worth it
2 hours and 45 minutes to play 9 holes. Greens and fairways not in good condition and didn’t see the cart girl until hole 7. Maybe worth it on the weekday but don’t go on a weekend.
A great day for golf
The course was in really good shape overall. The greens were rolling nicely. The weather was 75 degrees which was really odd for this time of year. I was paired up with a very nice man who just moved here from San Diego. I got to share my knowledge of the course with him. I just wished I played better.
Fantastic course, great people
So many fun holes with elevations, desert and plenty of traps. Course is always in perfect condition (a few greens have minor issues) and the staff is friendly. I play here a few times each visit (have to check for favorable pricing) and often do a same day replay.
On 17 and 18 play the elevated tees (typically roped off but no one cares) for some stunning views. GPS and club cleaner on each cart.
They have a nice discount at the restaurant after play.
Nothing special. Many better options
I rarely play here and decided to give it a try again for the forest time in years. It’s a resort but the course is much more like a basic public course. The lack of a driving range is always an issue and the layout isn’t great. I’m would rather just have play Ahwatukee Golf Club next time. Too many great course close and that’s why they always have available tee times.
Unique
Some greens were a bit slower than others but fairways were pristine.
Gimmicky course in poor shape
The good: staff was super attentive and friendly
The bad: pace of play was slow, almost 6 hours for 18 holes.
The ugly: course was in terrible shape, fairways had lots of dead grass and bare spots. They’re trying to do some repairs with sod replacement, but overall shape was pretty poor.
Great course / layout - show up early on the weekends
Great course and great layout. I have played it many times and it’s a load of fun.
My only advice is to be sure to show up 30-45 minutes early, the course will sometimes move up your tee time without notification. This happened to me and we missed the first hole.
Love this course
Great course. Friendly beverage cart and it was around a lot. I left my bluetooth speaker on the course and trying to retrieve. The ranger was very odd and pushing us to finish fast even though we had groups in front of us that we were waiting on all day
Great difficult course
Played the course a 7:30 with two young kids in the cart. Starter got us out early not paired up. Tough back 9 excellent course conditions.
Back nine beautiful
The staff was extremely friendly, except for the lady working in the Pro Shop acting like she didn’t wanna be there. The greens on the front nine were not in great shape. But the rest of the course was great.
Trying something new
This first time experience started rocky. I lost two new golf balls in the first three hole. But I hooked up with two local golfers and things got better. It's best to join up with someone who knows the course and get advice. I had a much better round of golf with their assistance.
Arizona Grand was Fun
Played this course last year and it is as good as ever. Fairways were in good shape, greens also. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I will play again.
Fishy but nice
Layout interesting and challenging with narrow landing areas on this target golf course. Some beautiful sights on back nine predominantly, as it skirts South Mountain park desert preserve. Lakes smelled of dead fish and would likely have been green if not for some recirculating pumps. It's mostly good but not up to the resort standard imho.
