canoa review
Golf course is good layout. Coming out of over seeding, greens pretty slow, entire course needed a good mowing. Bunkers on entire course were bear. nothing but rock and dirt and mud. Starter was a complete jerk . The guy was extremely unprofessional. we played at pace of course keeping up but lying back on group in front. However the group behind drove up on our group interrupting several times. Have some courtesy for other players people..
End of the Road
Greens and Fairways were in great shape. Pace of play was good for a Tuesday morning
The course has some holes along with 3 or 4 holes that are crap.
The course is in better shape than I have in a very long time. That made it more playable and enjoyable.
Greens were fantastic Traps still need a lot of work
Had lots of playing!
Had lots of fun playing the last tee time of the day. This place really needs to do something about the bunkers, it’s not even like sand it’s more like concrete. Worst part is, it’s been like that for months.
We could have die!
Guy in pro shop was very rude. I asked him several things and had to repeat questions to get an answer that was snotty. They don't have water, ice and cups available outside on the turn or to begin with to replenish. When going into the restaurant the staff act like you're invisible to order anything at bar, total of 6 people in there. We were not told there wasn't a cart person. Had we known that might have loaded more liquids being it was a 105. To make things worse water jugs on course were empty. We tried to call many times the message went to the other course Torres which is closed for reseeding.
Not a Resort Course
Course needs a lot of work. Owners harvested the profits and let the course seriously deteriorate over the past 10 years. It's a great layout, greens were fine, grass on the fairways, no sand in the rocky traps. It is not a pretty course except for mountain views.
Great day of golf.
Overall was a great day. Our foursome enjoyed the round of golf. That 18th hole is quite the challenge. We all left a few scores out there but that is golf. Staff was very friendly and professional.
Overseeding near
Second time I’ve played Canoa, nice layout and short tricky par 3’s. Most people don’t play out of the sand traps as there is no sand, only gravel. To be fair, the course is getting ready for overseeding so it’s pretty dry, although the ball runs a mile. Greens are in poor condition with a lot of bare dirt spots and weedy spots. But I will go back again when the new grass comes in and water has been applied.
Fun course
It is a fun course, but found it pretty chalaging.
Nice but
I like the course and play it several times a year. They miss the boat on how to manage the course. Just send a marshall out to monitor pace of play early to eliminate clogs Pace was good but the starter allowed a 2 some, a single then our 2 some out. It made our round sucky cause we waited on the 4 some 4 groups ahead!!!
Then there was a group of older men who were local members and they ran up our tails. Always driving carts up to our tee when we were trying to tee off then talking as well.
What's going on???
This is the worst we've experienced at Canoa. From the person in the pro shop when we went in, to beverage cart gal . . .not friendly whatsoever! Wonde if they're getting ready for overseeding, if so, that may explain some of the bad conditions. If not, fix it or lose it.
The absolute worst was when we came up to a hole that had 8 players on the green! 4 or 5 carts lined up. Swearing, music blasting and, from the sound of them, lots of "adult beverages" consumed. We just went off to another hole.
Please take care of that course! It used to be in better shape!!
