Canoa Ranch Golf Resort

My husband and I love Canoa Ranch. On this particular day, all the greens were aerated with a covering of sand. All the grass nubs were scattered about around the greens. After we finished the front nine, we proceeded to go to the back nine - no one told us that the back nine was closed!

Course was under going some maintenance. And grill was limited menu due to a maintenance issue.

Overall the course was a challenge but nice layout.

We will go back after maintenance issue complete.

The sand traps or should I say lack of sand traps were very disappointing!

Overall course in good shape except for bunkers. Badically all need work. I putted out of about 3 bunkers because they had hard dirt not sand. This shouldn't happen. They need work. Umm upon arrival at course starter goes into "I am not going to have a cart for you for a while we are finishing a tourney". Ok I get it. But he handled it poorly talked to me all stressed out. So not the way you want to start your day at the course. Maybe tell me in a calm manner the situation. Just comes off better.

Not sure what the purpose of cutting ALL growth down unless planning on grass? Looks like a bomb went off!

Great course, HORRIBLE wind - made it interesting.

I paid at the course and was very surprised at a $5 fee to process credit card and another $5 fee for watering the course. I had played the course 2 weeks prior , but since I paid online then, I diidn''t pay these fees.

The fairways and greens were as hard as a parking lot, so they are not watering the course with that money.

There were rocks the size of tennis balls in the bunkers instead of sand.

Not a good experience at all!

Have not played Canoa Ranch in several years; remember it as a challenging golf course in very good condition. However, recently when playing noticed how much the course has deteriorated in conditioning, as if no one is doing anything to maintain quality. All of the sand traps were dirt and rocks, not one had sand. Appeared they were not watering the course properly and the rough was hardpan. I had my golf group there of 16 players and all of them made sure I heard how disappointed they were that I had selected this course for our annual get away event. We should have been given advance notice of all of this, especially sand traps. Our green fee was suppose to have been a reduced rate, but was much too high for the quality of the course.

The face of play was terrible. When we got to eighth hole there were 3 groups waiting. No ranger ever came around and there was no beverage cart.
