Very well kept
They had punched the greens a couple of weeks ago so they were sandy however everything else was very well kept and the staff was great.
Extremely poor greens
Even with the understanding that it’s summer, this course shouldn’t have been opened back up just yet. The amount of sand on the greens was unbelievable. This was, by far, the worst greens I have ever played. Staff super friendly and helpful. Strange, didn’t see anywhere to clean clubs and none of the attendants were offering. This is an expected service at $75+, in my opinion. Won’t ever come back here.
Very poor comditions for a “TPC”
For what we paid, no matter if its July in Arizona, the course was in awful shape. The tee boxes were almost as thick as the rough. The greens had more sand on them then any beach along the California coast. Even munis like Aguila are in far better shape right now and at a better rate as well. Only good thing was the fairways were decent, though saturated, and the pace of play was exceptional. If I ever play at this course again, I will definitely call ahead to avoid another mess.
Another great round at TPC!
Course was a little rough in spots but that’s to be expected when it’s 115+ each day. Overall it was pretty good. The staff was excellent. We even had someone bring us cooling/scented towels. Very nice addition.
TPC Scottsdale did not disappoint!
My wife & I played our 1st ever round here & we really loved it. The greens were fast but forgiving (it was mid-afternoon & 108 degrees) & the fairways were in great shape. There were some sections around the greens that were dried up (& brown around 16 green) but it’s been very dry leading up to this week, so that’s understandable - there were sprinklers going on some holes. We kept a good pace & only ever saw a group on a tee-box behind us once on a long Par 5. Overall, we loved the course, lay out, & the whole team was extremely welcoming including the team helping with getting our cart set up, the Golf Shop staff & grounds workers. We will definitely be back!
Booking staff was unhelpful. Very Smug!!
My booking was questioned, and it was not my error. They were very quick to try to overcharge me for their error. I was using Golf Now and all my booking information. The TPC didn't care and we're indignant about it. We're the TPC and could care less, not exactly the customer service I expect at a course like this. They are not the prima donna course they believe they are.!! In Phoenix you have many choices, and this will never be at the top of my list. It's fun to play what we've seen the pros play, but with their attitude, I recommend you play WE KO PA , Quintero, Boulders, Whirlwind, etc.......
For their customer service responses go elsewhere.
First time, last time
Has a good friend in town and decided to play the Stadium course for the first time. Staff was great, peace of play good, layout great, but course condition was terrible. Bar spots abundant, fairways, rough, and green side.
Course pretty good, but people suck
After now 30-something years in a row watching professional golf there, it's always a treat to get out to TPC Stadium even in the heat of the summer. Of course, there were some burnt out areas (move your golf ball off of them, you're not a pro) and the greens were firm, but overall the course was in good shape and the greens were reasonably fast and as true as you're going to get for bermudagrass this time of year in Phoenix. The price was reasonable and the support staff all good. However, your customers are an awful bunch. Almost nobody fills divots with sand, repairs a ball mark or two on the greens, or can be bothered with raking a bunker they just fouled. The entitled generation is clearly above that. In addition, quite clearly, there is nobody else on the course. Endless banter like you're in a full bar at happy hour, sauntering off each green like you're a seasoned pro and then sitting in your cart next to the green while you count all nine strokes you took on the hole, and making absolutely sure that you're well positioned in front of the group behind you rather than behind the group in front of you. Yup, you know who you are. "You guys can go through if you want". Say what? There's two holes open in front of you. Move aside for five minutes of your self-important life and let people who actually know how to play golf go through. That "old guy" behind you that yelled "let's go" a couple of time on the back 9 alone was me. Five hours for a round of golf even on TPC is way too long, especially during summertime in Phoenix. Move up a tee box or two, keep up with the group in front of you, and just shut up. No one around you or even in your group cares that you missed a 3-footer for seven. Get better, get faster, or just go to TopGolf, will ya?
As expected, fantastic!
Definitely a course that punishes bad shots. But not quite as difficult as expected. I had a blast. Bucket list item. Pro speed greens, top notch facilities. Don't miss this.
TPC Scottsdale - measure yourself vs the pros
TPC Scottsdale is an excellent course with top notch facilities and service. It was incredibly hot 110+ but the staff was excellent and the course was in great shape. Definitely and must play if you have the chance, greens are super fast with slope. I don’t think the course rating and slope does it justice in the condition it is in right now
Amazing Course
Course was in great condition despite the summer weather. Staff from parking lot, throughout the course, and pro shop are so nice and professional. Really interesting playing this course minus all the grand stands during tournament time.
Smooth Putting
Greens rolled very smoothly. That’s important to me. Paying that amount of $$ for the round, I did NOT appreciate the advertising on the GPS that takes over the screen. I get enough advertising bombardment in every day life.
Challenging course on a hot day
The course was in very good condition with only minor issues. It was 115 deg but the course held up well for the temps. Greens were true and fast. Rough was as payable as the fairways. Staff was incredible. I will always play when I visit.
Bucket
This was a course I have been wanting to play for a while but it was a bit out of my dollar range, got an amazing deal on GolfNow and had an awesome time with the crew. On and off course is best in class!! Thanks to Jill at the.grill for keeping my card safe and the beverages cold.
Great summer conditions
Everything was great. Fast, true greens, bunkers and fairways were excellent!
Team event
Took my work team out for some relaxing golf at a great course. Everyone wants to play the stadium course but the Champions course is just as nice.
First Round
I've always wanted to play the course. It was under repair. But, all courses need that from time to time. It was unfortunate it was when I played. But, I was happy with the overall layout and play. I look forward to playing when its in shape.
We rented clubs since I was out of town. I play TM P-790's. I rented the Qi10's. They were pretty comparable. And in decent shape.
The starters knew we were late but still gave us a little time to warm up without running behind.
Overall with all things being what they were, I loved being there and playing such an iconic course.
