WOW!!!
Played here for the first time and was completely impressed from the time you drop off your clubs until you leave at the end of your round. The staff were extremely helpful/friendly and the course conditions were incredible. This is a must play if you are in the area. Make sure you shop around for the best deal possible.
Awesome!
Great course in great shape - pretty difficult but tons of fun. Staff and facilities are great - only draw back is you don't go by the club house at the turn - bought a hot dog off the cart and it was not good/old. Got a great deal on Golf Now.
Must play in the valley
Greens a little soft and could have been in better shape but probably saved me a couple strokes. Loved the experience...
great course, beautiful surroundings.
course was in great shape the surroundings are gorgeous.each hole is unique and challenging in its own way.definitely a must play course especially with the summer rates.
Beautiful course
Challenging course, especially the first time you play it. Several blind shots and carries. Don't get too attached to your golf ball, I lost three! Will play again while rates are low in the summer. Cart girl friendly and came around several times. Pace of play was great.
None better
Troon is and will always be the gold standard. Their course conditions are by far the best of any public course. And this holds true for every course they manage which I have been fortunate to play. The staff, the pro-shop, the practice facility, the bev carts, are all the best in the industry and this being their flagship course sets the bar high for all others.
I've played this course many times and I never grow tired of the course. Its a great challenge but not too punitive. Its gorgeous and plays swift. There is a reason that Troon North always appears at the top of the lists of best of, its because it truly is the best. Granted the greens are a bit of a mess with all the poa mixed in, but they're still miles ahead of most and from what I hear they're planning on redoing them soon to thwart any more poa.
Play here and you will see why its the gold standard. If only other courses and managment companies were half as good! I just wish I could play here weekly.
Gorgeous, world-class course, BUT...
…why no warning that the greens had just been punched?? No alert on Golf Now, no warning from the Golf Shop, the putting green was perfect; so it was VERY upsetting to pull up to the first green and find this unpleasant surprise. Not letting people know is just not acceptable; this all but ruins the game for golfers who care about their score. I understand it has to be done, but you simply have to let people know before they part with their hard-earned money to play in such conditions.
The course itself is Arizona golf at its best. Absolutely gorgeous.
Nice Place
My only complaint were the condition of the greens. Everything else was perfect but the greens had a lot of pitch marks and bad spots. They were punching them in a few days so that may have had something to do with it.
Best bang for your buck
Everything about this course is spectacular!!
Very challenging course. You have to play smart golf cause its not very forgiving.
Most scenic and beautiful course I've played and I'll definitely come back.
This is "Arizona golf" at it's finest.
Great Course
I've played this course twice and its been horrible pace with absolutely rude people playing and unhelpful staff to any problems. No matter how nice the course it's not worth the continued problems and far better courses surrounding.
Great Member Hosts and Fairways at Monument
Was paired with a married couple of 45 years Mark and Monica(?). They are Troon resident members. Their local knowledge was invaluable(maybe 8 strikes).
Weather was right around 80 with wind <10 MPH most of the day.
The only reason the overall rating was less than 5 stars was due to the Poa Annua on the greens. They did a good job of smoothing them out and they were rolling pretty well at about 8 on the stimp most likely.
My favor part of the course is the fairways. Best I've played anywhere. First cut of rough was more than fair. Balls were findable in the desert. Bunkers I visited were consistent.
The Monument course has many lovely vistas that I took a few moments to enjoy as the pace of play was brisk but never hurried a bit.
All in all great desert golf with tremendous member playing partners. Thanks for everything Mark and Monica from Minnesota. Go Vikings! Troon Monument, I'll be back. Can't wait to play Troon Pinnacl and compare notes.
beautiful scenery
the course was in great condition we're a little late but Steph very accommodating. went out as a twosome never saw another group until the 16th hole. grains and excellent condition, course superb condition. would recommend this course . this was a second Troon chorus that I played in the last 8 month. played Kierland late last yearwas treated very badlyand had decided not to play Truan courses again. Troon North has restored my opinion of Troon courses.
Fanstastic Course
Well maintained course that was fun to play, not too challenging.
Wet day at Pinnacle course
Riding was relative since we were restricted to cart path only. Long day. Only $155 each to "walk" to the course. Every hole has forced carries and would be very intimidating to even intermediate players. I would only recommend this course to my friends in single digit handicap range. A lady on a porch decided to inform us we were trespassing while looking for an errant ball. No signs and we were only 2 paces off cart path. Please. Pretty sure this was my one and only time here. There are just as good courses around the valley and you won't have to take out a second mortgage to play them. The course fairways and greens were very nice.
Golf at Troon North
This is a great course and always in excellent condition and care. The staff from the bag drop at the door to the cleaning of the clubs at the end of your round are great and friendly. They are there to help, show you directions and give you any assistance that you need, other than helping with a poor shot. Ha. The course has some challenges, with sand bunkers set at strategic locations as well as boulders everywhere to hit around or over. It was just the best golf to date.
True desert golf as it should be
Played Troon North Pinnacle with 3 friends while on a golf vacation and it was a truly excellent experience in all ways. Troon is a little bit more expensive than many of the courses in the area, but well worth it. Spectacular scenery and well designed holes were a big part of it, and the course was challenging but fair. The fairways were in great condition and could be found on all holes, but surrounded by a reasonable amount of rough - you had to hit a fairly bad shot to be out in the desert area. Greens were fast but ran true, and overall this was a great experience I would recommend to others.
Highly Recommended
Our round at Troon North was wonderful from start to finish...from the staff, to the course lay-out and condition and the views are indescribable. It is a phenomenal experience. Picture perfect weather and surrounding views were the icing on the cake. I'll remember this incredible round of golf for a long long time!
Another great experience
Beautiful surroundings, and always a treat to play both Troon courses. They were in typical great shape, and enjoyed the whole experience. The Dynamite Grill is a great place for breakfast, or after round hangout/dinner. I took 3 guys for their first time, and they were definitely wowed. Rattlers are active this time of year, one joined us on a tee box but was just passing through.
Albertan's first time playing in AZ
Beautiful course, gorgeous day. First round of the year for me. Great dessert views and very serene environment. Practice greens were very misleading as they were way faster than the course greens. Didn't shoot the best and felt I could've played much better, but an overall great experience for my first round even in AZ. AZ is full of great golfers and golf courses from what I've seen thus far.
Beautifull course
Excellent Troon course
Pricey however at 185 us
Played phoenician another excellent Troon course for $115 us
