Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
Great Course Almost Ruined By Idiots
Eagle Mountain is, as advertized, in its usual spectacular shape. I played it as a single with two great local regulars (Lonnie and Ed) and we had a spectacular day in the searing heat despite the group that went out in front of us. More about that after the review. Eagle Mountain did a recent overhaul of the first and 14th fairways and they are both in better shape than when we played em in January. In fact all the fairway and tee-boxes were pristine and the greens had almost no ball marks and rolled fast and true. There were plenty of watering stations and the whole overall course conditions were spectacular. What concerns me is how, as a more upper-tier facility, Eagle Mountain chooses to employ just one players' assistant in the heat of the summer and to keep him stationed at the first tee. That nice big cooler of scented iced towels is useless at the club-cleaning area--it's ten steps to the nice cool washroom--it should be in the back of a marshall's cart roaming the fairways and keeping play moving just as it is around the corner at We-Ko-Pa.
I will close this review by noting that it never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate a few of our fellow golfers can be in choosing their tee-boxes. We played behind a foursome with at least two members who needed to be on the forward tees, NOT PLAYING THE TIPS!! By 13 tee there were two and one-half holes open in front of them. That golf course was playing slow long after I had driven home and settled into my pool and there is just no excuse for that. Get a marshall out there, Eagle Mountain.
Almost
Course architecture was great. People nice. But putting greens were sorrowful inconsistent.
Beautiful course it is in good shape.
The staff was friendly at check in through putting the clubs in the car. The course is challenging but fair. This is one of my top 3 courses in AZ. I will be back.
Very enjoyable
Course is set up very forgiving off the tee. Greens are the undulating and hard to read. Pace of play was great. Enjoyed it very much and will be back
Thank you for taking the time to review us! We are sorry to see that you did not fully enjoy your time with us. We are always looking to improve, so we appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback. We hope to have you back in the future.
Eagle Mountain
Good layout...lots of undulation in the greens. Good course conditions. Well maintained. Practice green speeds did not match course green speeds. Playable for all skills....
Great course
In great shape except for sand traps a little firm . Excellent course
Great course
The layout is great and the greens were rolling fantastic and fast
The only complaint is I ended up in 2 green side bunkers and there is NO sand in them
Be aware
Course is a little ragged
Always love playing Eagle Mountain. Staff was stellar and changed our tee time when we got delayed by a road closure. Only negatives were the condition of the fairways (lots of bare and brown spots) and the pin placements on some greens. Those issues make it hard to give the course a high rating at this time.
Fairways Need to be watered, but great greens
Great design, amazing actually. The use of natural landscape is very unique and picturesque. Greens are great, rolled fast and true. Only downside is the fairways are very patchy, burnt on many holes. Everything else is great!
Good Course..Nice Greens
Eagle mountain was a fun golf course..definitely a nice course if you are still knocking the winter rust off. all the holes kinda funnel the ball towards the fairway and away from the desert. Greens were smooth and rolled well...definitely reccomend
Eagle Mountain
Everything about this course is great accept the amount one pays to play. It always changes. I asked today why is it always different and what I got was it is the same as buying airline tickets. No kidding.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us with 3 stars. We always strive for a 5 star experience, so all of your feedback is appreciated. Please feel free to contact the club directly if you feel that there are specifics we can improve on. We hope to have you back at the course in the future.
