Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
Great course
First time playing this course. It was recommended by several family members that have played it. They were right, the course was fantastic. If you want to play a mountain course without the desert, this is the one. I will surely play it again my next trip back.
Splendide
I recommande this course golf. Spectaculaire views on the mountains
Eagle Mtn
Great course. Lots of forgiveness on the drives. Greens in great shape. Fairways had some repair issues, but that's it. Great course for views and desert experience without too much target. Service was great. Ladies in restaurant were awesome..
Handicap 8
Eagle Mountain
The course has some bad areas in fairways which isn't unusual considering there are no flat areas on the course. Their greens were extremely healthy looking yet were extremely slow in putting speed and many of the holes were placed on down slopes just above or below severe slopes so poor choice of hole selections and need to CUT the greens so they will not be so deathly slow. Challenging layout and scenic
What a JOKE
Course is the worst I've seen it ever with basically no fairways and service was horrible.
Slow play
Starter takes you to the first hole, tells you to hit when clear, then leaves. 1st shot is a blind over the hill shot, first time playing, -- where to aim, how to tell if clear to hit? Waited every hole for group in front, had group behind hitting up. Why use a starter, if not to time out the groups. Unpleasant day, hurry up and wait.
Eagle Mountain is Always a Great Experience
I would definitely recommend playing here during. The course was undergoing some repair in some areas of the fairway, but overall it was still in pretty good shape for the summer.
Would play it again!
We played Eagle Mountain Golf Course upon a recommendation from another golf course in the area. It was fair, has lots of character and beautiful views. We were a little disappointed because no one told us of the fairway issues prior to our tee time. Considering weather, etc. that plays into golf course conditions, we will play it again and look forward to it!
Disappointed
Considering the course conditions, I was very disappointed at how much they were charging.
neat course
Superb views. Great course for those who like undulating fairways and greens and continual elevation changes. Clearly this makes it challenging but fun. Course was in rough shape and undergoing significant repairs and renovations. In spite of just having major rainstorms dumping tremendous amount or rain and thus requiring limited use of carts to the rough, the sprinklers were going all over the course! Nonsensical. Looking forward to coming back next year when hopefully the course is in better shape. This truly is a great course. Our timing was not the best but we still had fun!
Elevated tees with outstanding views.
I love to try "new to me" courses. This course did not disappoint. The layout is fantastic. I played from the green tees, which is about 6200 but it tended to play harder then most. The par 5s (except one) were over 500 yrds but reachable in regulation because they were down hill. One par 5 was 480 yrds, but all uphill. I did have trouble on several of the par 4s, as they were over 425 and one of them was 435 and all uphill. A great test of ball striking, as most lies were up, down, above or below stance. FUN! Next time I will play the tees forward at about 5900. The summer sun has taken a toll on some of the fairways, but you can tell the crew is on it and will bring it back.
Fairways under repair but great otherwise
I love the layout of this course. Under the AZ sun, the summers are tough on the fairways which were cut out in parts and sod re-laid. But for that, the course was great. Always a favorite.
Excellent value
Course in great shape although greens a tad slower than others in the area. Spectacular views and well worth a visit although you have to be quite fit to get up and down the steep hills around most greens.
Great Course
Played at 8am before it got too hot, the course was in great condition for the time of the year despite the bare patches and some works on the fairways on the back 9. Will go again
nice course but fairways need so upkeep
I played during the week days. There were hardly any players out there. the starter said it's wide open, just go whenever you are ready. the practice range was nice . They have ice cold water and cold towels by golf carts. The cold towels are very nice amenity for this AZ summer heat.
The front 9 were not very challenging. The back 9 has little more difficulties to the course layout.
Maybe they are using the slow time of the year to do most of the course's repairs. there were patches of rope up area in fairway a lot of holes. The green was on the slow side for me.
the staffs greets warmly at the bag drop area and at turn.
The course has some beautiful view of the valley and the Eagle mountain added great AZ golfing experiences.
the course was great before the 2 cut left 2high
I am a 12hcp the course was playbal before now with 2on cut to high only very low hcp can enjoy
Good test
This course will test your patience with its tight fairways and rolling green complexes. A very enjoyable and fair test of golf.
Spectacular views
Even though they were having some issues with the fairways, the lay out and the scenery made up for it. There is a lot of trouble left and right and sand traps in front off greens which makes you play some target golf so bring your "A" game. Food and drinks were a little pricey as well as the pro shop. I would definitely return and probably play from the tips.
Eagle Mountain
Excellent....highly recommend above average condition
greens a little rough
Still showing signs of aeration and not at all consistent from one hole to the next. This would be fine I'd the course was the type I played all the time, but since this is a once or twice a year choose, it would be better to have some consistany on them.
