About JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa

The JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa is among the largest golf resorts in Arizona with 865 guest rooms and suites. It is an amenity of the next door Wildfire Golf Club, home to two full-length, 18-hole golf courses designed by Nick Faldo and Arnold Palmer. The resort features five pool areas, including a lazy river and water slide, as well as the more exclusive and quiet Griffin Bay pool area. There is also a fitness center, full-service Revive Spa and tennis courts. Managed by Marriott Golf, there is a kids program and kids play golf free at Wildfire Golf Club with a paid adult.

Wildfire Faldo course

If you can handle the heat, then this place has you covered. 114 degrees made a 4 hour round feel 6 hours long. The staff was very professional and the course has a nice layout

Fantastic Course, Fantastic Staff

Played here with my wife in the morning, before the hot afternoon sun. Water on every other hole. Greens were in great shape. Bunkers were raked and nice to play out of. Fairways in decent shape and still green despite the heat. Liked the course layout and it as also fair to my wife who is a high handicapper. She liked it as well. Overall I would say that the course and the staff that work here make this a very enjoyable round of golf. Will definitely play here again.

Faldo Course

The golf course was in very good shape! That said I will never return to play the Faldo course. Nor will anyone in my group I might add. Course is very tricked up and tries too hard to be cute. I hit many solid shots that were not rewarded due to several small greens and tricked up pin placements.

Afternoon of frustration!

Faldo course in good shape however one of the most frustrating courses I have ever played! Sand traps everywhere including in the middle of fairway on hole #2 and others. Tricked up greens. First and last time I will play this course. Play elsewhere!
