Great course
One of the nicer desert courses, lots of sand traps and waste area make it challenging. Course in excellent condition. Nice practice facilities and staff.. great experience!
A mixed review…
My ‘relationship’ with wildfire got off to a rocky start. At the pro shop checking in, I found that our reservation was inadvertently booked for the prior day… fully my bad. Prepaid using GolfNow. I asked if they could get us on and yes there was an opening, but there was no offset for the $320 that they collected yesterday, so it would have run to a total of over$900 for the 2 of us to play. The pro shop guy couldn’t have cared less - zero customer service, just dismissive. I’ve played at a lot of places and never felt so put off. On a whim, I found a hot deal there at 4pm, last time out. The folks running carts were awesome, and the ranger ‘Tommy’ helped me navigate away from crowded spots to empty places - incredibly friendly and helpful.
Course was immaculately manicured. Greens quick and pure. If you spray the ball at all, this is a tough layout - off the fairway it’s all Rocky’s sand and desert shrubs - unplayable. Just based on the initial treatment I can’t recommend this place. I won’t come back - there’s a lot of options in Phoenix, better tracks at much lower cost and better service.
Very bunkered, challenging course.
Pace off play was excellent and staff was very friendly. A good golf experience.
Fun round of golf
Great afternoon of golf.. Good layout with excellent conditions and perfect weather . Bargain compared with some of the other area courses. There is enough challenge to be interesting without being overwhelming. Fairways are reasonable. Not as much of a target course as some in Scottsdale. Very ebjoyable.
VERY over priced
Very nice course, but VERY overpriced and poorly managed for that price. Many of the traps we not prepped....only raked by prior players, not by the course. Golf cart ran out of electric midway. GPS was well below standard.
Better than expected.
3.5 hours as a 3some was tremendous. Many of the numerous bunkers are aiming bunkers. Playing correct tees is a must. Bunker sand depends on if close to green. Don't hit off the dark green, especially onto the pebbles.
Would play there again if given the chance.
Wow!
Maybe it was my time to get through a quick round of golf (3 1/2 hrs) without having to wait on somebody plumb-bobbing every putt or waiting to attempt a 300 yard approach shot to the green when they can’t even get past the forward tees on their drive. Finally! Out of five courses in five days, I saved the best for last! This course is absolutely gorgeous with flawless greens. By mid-afternoon, the bunkers looked like they had never been played in - smooth as silk and deceptively firm. I was in Nirvana.
A little tight
Versus the Faldo course, the Palmer course is tighter and a little annoying but overall a great place. Somewhat pricey this time of year
