Historic JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn dates back to 1936 and is set on 125 acres at the base of Camelback Mountain. This 425-room and suite property in a pueblo-style features a spa, tennis courts, heated outdoor pools, garden terraces and desert hiking trails. Camelback Golf Club features two 18-hole courses, the Padre (designed by Arthur Hills) and Ambiente (by Dana Fry and Jason Straka). In addition to these championship courses, there is also a small pitch 'n putt golf course onsite. Dining is highlighted by Lincoln Steakhouse & Bar, while Rita's Cantina & Bar is more casual with a southwest flair. Spa and poolside dining is also available. The golf club has American cuisine at Acacia. Spacious guest rooms feature outdoor living spaces and kitchenettes. Onsite car rental is available as well as 127,500 square feet of meeting space is available for large groups.Facts

First Time
Our first time playing the Ambiente course was a great experience. The course is in fabulous condition. The layout is fair for all levels of golfers. Wide fairways and large greens. The stafff was very friendly and helpful with how to play. Will definitely be going back to Camelback GC and take friends along.
Fun and challenging course
First time playing and was not disappointed. Course layout is challenging and forces you to make golf shots and be accurate off the tee box. For the extreme heat the fairways and greens were in good condition. Will be playing here again.

Great course, great staff, all around a great experience. Would highly recommend this course!
Great layout
1ST time playing Ambiente since the the changes. Loved the new course. In great shape considering the lack of rain and above average Temps. WILL BE BACK. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE
Best condition!
First time playing Camelback! The course (Padre) was in great condition!
I got a little hassled when checking in. I booked on GolfNow for 11:40, but that morning I noticed that tons of times were not booked so I took the chance and showed up early in hopes of getting on earlier. The gentleman at check-in said he shouldn’t let me and my partner go out early because he can see that we “booked on GolfNow,” and he said, “what did you pay, like $50?” I was taken aback a bit—like, what do you care if it’s not busy?
Course is in great shape for this time of year and staff is always on point!! Definitely a great place to play!
Challenging and customer friendly environment
I can’t recommend this course enough. We had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and sincerely concerned that we were enjoying the day. We would go back if we had time to do so.
Good Course
So super friendly staff here all the way through. GPS in carts. Played the Padre Course. Found the course in decent shape despite summer, greens in good shape, very good layout, pace of play was really good at about 3 to 3 1/2 hours. No cart girl (who was sick) but the staff made sure to give away plenty of water. Thought the price to play was a little high based on summer conditions. But have to say we enjoyed ourselves overall.
Nastalgia
Awesome course. Had a great time. Couldnt really find anything negative to say. Beautiful greens and fairways. Played 18 holes in 2.5 hours. Staff was really nice, not just doing their job. I will be back.
