Enjoyed it!
If I’m correct they are 2 weeks out from aeration. I guess I timed it correctly. The greens are in great condition, rolled really smooth. I’ve played here before, but always a couple of days before aeration. Enjoyed and will be back!
Ambiente is stellar
Played from the tips with a scratch golfer and got a ton of good tips for an IPA. Shot 91 but still one of the most enjoyable rounds I have played in some time. The course is one of the best in the valley and use it now before over-seed and ^ $.
Good course
Course was in good shape for the summer conditions - a little inconsistent in terms of some areas so watered they were soft and others firm but understandable given the heat. Play was a bit slow for an early morning round as we got behind a couple of ‘methodical’ groups that took time to practice swing or line up every shot just to miss by a decent margin. I enjoyed the round and would recommend and would play it again. Wish they allowed non-member walkers.
Nice layout
Course has a nice layout and 9 out then 9 back. Staff are all excellent, friendly, and helpful. Greens were in good shape. Course edges a little rough. Didn’t appreciate being in a bunker and huge grass/weeds on the back edge didn’t allow any backswing- crazy. Overall nice course and challenge.
Nice Course
Course was very nice. All staff are always nice and helpful. Greens were in good shape. Like the layout with 9 out then back. Edges can be rough. One hole was in a bunker and couldn’t swing with very tall and thick grass growing into the bunker, poor maintenance in my opinion. Overall like the course and is a decent challenge
Great, fast course
Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Course was in great shape and we were able to play 18 holes in a little more than 3 hours. Frequent visits from drink cart, great food at clubhouse after - very great experience!
Poor Ameneties
It was 107 and they had NO water on the course (there was an older style water fountain at the restroom but it was hot water). At hole 9 back at the club house, we asked for ice. They reported they had none! And no beverages available for sale. At hole 10 we were greeted with a player urinating at the T box. The holes themselves were in poor condition. At hole 12 we had dog walkers, approaching on the T off, oblivious to it all.
Given the season the grass itself was well maintained and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. Fairly easy course.
Ambiente tops for $
Great layout and perfect course conditions. Always play here when green fees reasonable.
Always the Standard
Camelback--Ambiente is always in great shape summer or winter, heat wave or monsoon. There were workers out doing course maintenance during the round as it was Tuesday--a day you would expect the maintenance. to occur. I accept the reality. Even so, the fairways and greens were all top notch. Camelback also has one of the best practice facilities.
We’ll maintained course
Camelback Ambiente course is in good condition, especially considering this summer’s weather. Greens were a little bumpy, perhaps from an earlier aeration. Traps were in very good condition (the exception in Phoenix, generally). GPS was very helpful for a first-timer. Penalty areas were not marked so hard to know precisely where to drop, or if a drop was even permissible. But that didn’t affect the course conditions and play. Staff were friendly and helpful. Practice area was large and in good shape.
