We’ll maintained course
Camelback Ambiente course is in good condition, especially considering this summer’s weather. Greens were a little bumpy, perhaps from an earlier aeration. Traps were in very good condition (the exception in Phoenix, generally). GPS was very helpful for a first-timer. Penalty areas were not marked so hard to know precisely where to drop, or if a drop was even permissible. But that didn’t affect the course conditions and play. Staff were friendly and helpful. Practice area was large and in good shape.
Ambiente GC was in excellent condition
Played as a solo player at 110*, walking, and completing my round in 3:40. Course was perfect from tee box to green. Sand traps were consistent, with sufficient levels of sand. Greens were at a good pace and ran true. The only problem was that they were heavily watering the fronts of many greens (due to the extreme heat of late), which resulted in numerous missed greens (but I understand why and accept the outcome). Definitely a great value with a GolfNow Hot Deal.
Great course that had just reopened
Had a great day at Camelback. Great layout, it was in very good condition. The starter told me they had just reopened. Anyway, it was a great day, course was a little soft because of watering and the temp was 117. Only issue was that the hole cutter was a little dull on one side, so the every cup was a bit off. Otherwise, it was a great day.
This course is in great shape for the middle of summer
Padre is a fun layout. The course is in good shape, quite green, the greens are in great shape.
Pace of play was 3-1/2 hours, so fast.
They have all the same service as winter, with far fewer people.
Nice course, Excellent Staff
Course has a nice mix of holes. Par 5 greens seem small. Staff was very friendly. Played in 3 hours mid week.
Great Summer Round!
Haven’t played much recently so not much to compare to, but for mid summer in Phoenix, can’t imagine finding much better course conditions at a public. Both fairways and greens were great. Staff was nice. 6:30 tee time, was done in 3 hours. There are cheaper options out there but if you’re looking for a quality course to play, highly recommend CGC.
Padre Course still recovering from Aeration
The Padre course was in overall good condition, though aerated fairways and greens were still needing 1-2 more weeks of recovery. Pace was excellent, taking just over 3 hours for me to walk, as a sole single player at mid-day with106* + temperatures. Sand traps were well maintained , with most tee boxes being level.
Expensive but interesting
Fairways very dry and hard to find a good lie.
Greens also rough and slow.
Beautiful layout with all the expensive homes to admire.
Challenging but fair
Course was in great condition. Staff was super friendly. Great course. Bunkers and some water. Keeps you thinking. Play smart.
Excellent staff. Fairways quite dry and hard. Like hitting off concrete.
Solid summer find
Greens were in great shape, fairways were nice. Really solid summer find and value.
First Time
This is the first time I've played here, but for the heat of summer the course was in good shape and it was an enjoyable round.
