Overpriced

The staff and restaurant were outstanding.

the tee boxes and fairways were really beat up. The charge a premium but course conditions were anything but premium.

Open and fun!

I was pleasantly surprised by orange tree golf club! A somewhat easier course due to open fairways and almost no elevation change. But the fairways and greens are in excellent condition! Greens are super fast but soft enough to keep approach shots on the green (unlike McCormick Ranch, concrete greens). Pace of play was perfect, we didn’t even see anybody behind us until halfway through the back 9. Would absolutely play again

Playability

I know the course has been working on bunkers. Many/most are still of low quality -- certainly poor by a "Golf Resort" standard and $$. The 12th green has several large areas that have been without grass for several years.

Pace of play: On the 2nd hole ( a par 5), we had four groups--very slow so we quit after 13 holes (5 PM).

The greens need help

Traveling from out of state, paid 200 a person for 18 holes. The golf course was in extremely poor condition.

The greens were patchy, and divots everywhere. They even had some construction underway on the 16th and the sand traps were filled with construction workers and equipment. I played at four other golf courses in the Scottsdale area in the same week. All of them were great and were priced similar. Orange Tree Golf was the only course disappointing course.

Good value but could be much better with minimal effort

Have played OT for years and the course is not in the shape it has been in the past. Tee boxes in rough shape, bunkers are undergoing a face lift. If OT staff put in a minimal amount of extra work to make sure water in ball wash, change the J-Cloth towels that are essentially rags from ball washer, empty the overflowing garbage cans at the tee boxes and fill the water coolers, that would be a huge improvement.

Can't argue with the $73 +tax for the round, unfortunately was on the course for 4 hrs and 30 minutes and that did not include the 18th hole. We had the 2:00 pm tee time and struggled to get in 16 holes before too dark. While the 2some in from of us was not slow, having a 5 yr old granddaughter making every sand trap on the course her own sandbox was not cool.

Okay

Played Orangetree for the first time in years. Going back to my teenage years I always enjoyed playing the course. Yesterday’s experience was fair at best. You could have landed a jet in the bunkers they were so compacted. Staff was polite but not overly friendly. Maintenance workers everywhere. Pace of play was excellent and on course marshals very accommodating. So, it wasn’t a top rated experience but, as I said, have always enjoyed the course. Will play it again but hope there are some visible improvements.
