Palm Course - McCormick Ranch Photo submitted by tainge on 03/29/2013
Fast greens
Course is in good shape despite recent rains. Greens are diabolically fast.
Loved the course
Loved the course, it had beautiful challenging holes. Fairways were very well kept with a few exceptions. The only negative was the greens were pretty battered with divots. Not going to blame the maintenance as it seems players do not fix their ball marks for days. Would love to play again!
These guys are Trash and Money Hungry
I bring a group of golfers for a party and 3 of them bailed late and because I booked it, these pricks charged me for all the no shows. l understand they could have sold the spots but things happen where you can’t make it and this is the only course that I’ve heard of that actually charged it. Most are understanding. Plenty of nice courses in Scottsdale, Stay away from this place!
Cool Layout
First time playing here - played the Palm Course. The front nine was amazing, very cool layout, tough greens, lots of water hazards and bunkers. The back nine was a little more straightforward, appeared older, not as difficult. The pace of play was fine and the staff was friendly. The back nine did have some spots under construction and/or marked due to recent rain. The course was overall in good shape, the front nine was really nice. The greens were smooth and rolled true, there was just a weird number of ball marks on the greens for it being such a nice course. Would definitely go back. Asked the cart guy on the way out and he said he prefers the Pine Course. He said ideally the Palm front and Pine back so I guess pick your poison.
Enjoyable round. The course was fun to play wide fairways and well protected greens.
Winter Golfer
The pace of play was slow as there was a tournament that same day.
It was cart path only because of the wet conditions.
NO WARNINGS ON TERRIBLE PLAY
I had a 2:08 tee time with my buddy (twosome) and was told that we were delayed after we paid. We did not tee off until 2:25. BOTH back 9’s were closed and we had to wait for THREE GROUPS every tee box. Not to mention it was CART PATH ONLY. I paid over 90 dollars only to play 13 holes before it got too dark. As a 2some, it should be easy finishing 18 with 3.5 hrs of daylight. The staff/ course obviously had no intention of caring about telling us that the back 9’s were closed, that it was backed up by 3 groups, AND that it was CART PATH ONLY. Like seriously?! They did not ever bother covering 50% of the tee charge or any cover of some sort. Do not play here, plenty of better options for the same price
