About Resorts at Ventana Canyon: Loews and The Lodge
Tucson's Ventana Canyon development is home to a residential community and membership, 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf, and two, four-star lodging properties, the Loews Ventana Canyon and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. The Loews Ventana Canyon is the larger of the two with 398 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining areas and pools, including an adults-only pool. It also has four lighted tennis courts and a spa to go along with multiple dining concepts from fine to bar and casual. The Lodge at Ventana Canyon is smaller with just 50 suites that feature kitchenettes and oversized living areas. The Lodge has its own dining room for casual fare, the Catalina Dining Room, as well as its own pool and spa. Proud of that 3 rd hole !
Course didn't live up to all the hype. Seemed to cater to residents there more so than nonresidents. Very inconvenient to even get to the clubhouse from the parking lot and then back again. It was 3/4 of a mile to the range. Wasn't impressed.
Beautiful course
The course was beautiful. Spectacular views and enjoyed the elevated tees and playing over small canyons and over cactus gardens, etc. Unfortunately we had some fairly strong winds to deal with, but wouldn't have missed playing just because of that. Would love to come back and play it again along with the canyon course.
Beautiful desert course
The course is outstanding! We have played here before and both times it was in great condition.
The initial process is less than accommodating with no one to meet you curbside to let you know where the clubs go and where you go. There is a bit of a walk with a lot of steps to get to the pro shop and then down large steps to get to the starter. It isn't bad if your knees are better than mine.
Once at the starter area we found the starter and the entire staff to be very friendly and helpful. They are well organized and the practice area is very nice.
All in all, a fun day! We will go back again!
Perfect conditions
Mt. Course was in excellent shape. Greens were best I've seen in S. AZ.
Great track.
And we watched a bobcat!
Beautiful Course
We were able to play this breathtaking course for $59ea thanks to GolfNow... Go Play!
exceptional
I have golfed here for number of years and the course Is in best condition e#v..
Beautiful and Challenging
This is a beautiful course that was in excellent shape. The setup is challenging but not impossible. It's more about accuracy than length unless you play from the blacks. The relationship between the Loew's resort and the private golf course is odd. I recommend that you show up early and be prepared to wander around the resort parking lot for a while. There is no golf signage at the resort, and yet that's where you check-in. The staff at the resort and golf course were friendly and tried to explain the relationship, but it all seems odd. All over the golf course there are signs promoting golf memberships to the club, so it seems the club may be struggling a bit financially. They would do well to be a bit more agreeable with the resort.
Great layout
The course is in fantastic condition. I loved #17, very well designed.
Very scenic course
Played the Mountain course and the scenery was fantastic. Nice layout and pace of play was great. Greens were tough to read so lots of 3 putts and the grass on the greens seemed kind of grainy but in great shape. Get a good deal on golfnow and go play this course.
Breathtaking scenery
Beautiful views from every hole. Played 18 holes in just under 4 hours. Great experience! Will definitely come back.
Well conditioned course
The Canyon course was in great shape with the greens rolling beautifully. We all had difficulty reading the grain on the greens and that made for quite an adventure for putting. Overall, though, a very enjoyable round.
Great Course
Played the Mountain course and loved it. The course conditions were fantastic, the greens excellent. Really enjoyed the layout, one of my favorites. Definitely recommend.
must try
A beautiful course, one for the memory. The 4th hole on the mountain course must be played from the tips. What a view
SLOW PACE
THE GREENS WERE FAST BUT THE PACE OF PLAY WAS VERY SLOW. IF YOU BOOK ON GOLF NOW, Book 2 DAYS BEFORE NOT A WEEK BEFORE. PAID WAY TOO MUCH, WHEN THERE ARE OTHER COURES JUST AS NICE AT A BETTER RATE...THE MOUNTAIN SIDE WAS A BETTER VALUE.
Not my favourite kind of layout
Played the Canyon Course. No complaints overall as indicated in my rating but just not the kind of layout I enjoy. Exceptional condition but greens are only receptive to balls that hit with plenty of spin so hitting from the fairway is key to holding the greens. Only played the course once but it somehow felt tight and crowded with very little room for error. If you were off the cut portion of the course (that includes the rough) by only several feet you were in a hazard, OB, or unplayable 80% of the time or more so hitting it straight is essential. Once again no complaints overall and a great course but too punitive for the type of golf I enjoy playing.
Ventana Canyon
Great course with spectacular views...pretty challenging if you miss the fairways.
Frost Delay
Slow play as shotgun start began. Greens had many markings of players not picking up there feet.
Beautiful course and views
The Mountain course is a must to play. Wide fairways off the tee, but subsequent shots into green require exact yardages as well as knowing where to miss. Greens are fast with various undulations. Great views and well worth playing again.
Course is challenging!
The course was in excellent condition. Fairways are wide from the tee, however know your yardage for shots to the green. And make sure you know where to miss if you do not hit green. Greens running fast and most greens have significant undulations.
Expérience à ne pas manquer!
Un des plus beau parcours de la région de Tucson! Conditions impeccables, un vrai challenge!
