Resorts at Ventana Canyon: Loews and The Lodge
About Resorts at Ventana Canyon: Loews and The Lodge
Tucson's Ventana Canyon development is home to a residential community and membership, 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf, and two, four-star lodging properties, the Loews Ventana Canyon and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. The Loews Ventana Canyon is the larger of the two with 398 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining areas and pools, including an adults-only pool. It also has four lighted tennis courts and a spa to go along with multiple dining concepts from fine to bar and casual. The Lodge at Ventana Canyon is smaller with just 50 suites that feature kitchenettes and oversized living areas. The Lodge has its own dining room for casual fare, the Catalina Dining Room, as well as its own pool and spa. Always top notch
Ventana is alway top notch! Greens were being re-worked this round so they were a little bumpy, but the views are the best Tucson has to offer. A-
SWood
Beautiful course. Third-world greens.
Greens had recently been verti-cut and were terribly slow and bumpy. No mention in GolfNow ad. Most courses give you an alert.
Still, an excellent, picturesque track and (other than greens) was in great shape.
Very strange how you have to wind back and forth to get to various 9's.
One of the best courses in Tucson
Always nice to play a course in excellent condition.
We play as a twosome and always meet fun people when we get paired up as we did today.
If you like to play challenging courses that are In excellent condition, this and the Mountain course are for you.
beautiful golf course with a view to match.
It is incredible how well they can keep the course in such an outstanding condition in the middle of the summer in Tucson, guess if you thru enough money at it, amazing things happen...the course in great shape, the people in front of us were somewhat slow, not sure if they know that. other than that, the course in a great shape, for a golfer, if you have not played this course, you are missing something from your resume.
course was in great shape loved the greens
I normally do not play this course, with the summer rates we decided to play the Canyon course and we had a great time. Loved the course
We played from the proper tee box made it very enjoyable
A great place
Very pleasurable course. Great conditions for summer. Did not see a beverage cart, but not an issue for me. Plenty of drinking water on the course. Played in about 100 degrees but no problem. Plenty of tee options so you can fit the course to you own skill level.
Ventana Canyon Golf
Course was in good shape for the time of the year.
Great Bargain, Great Course
If you don't mind the heat, now is a great time to play Ventana
5 hour round
Extremely slow group in front of us. Stack us up as well as at least two groups behind us. Ranger didn't do anything about it. Frustrating when playing such a nice course.
Oasis in the hot desert sun
The condition of the course for this time of year was great. The trees around the course are mature and provide shady spots to park the cart. We had a good time.
Excellent Greens
Excellent course conditions and helpful staff. Greens putted very well; fast and true. Everything breaks away from the Mountain so take a look before putting.
You need to play this course!
Mtn course was in great shape--especially for this time of year, when plugging and sanding is going on- also great value--we booked on GolfNow
Ventana Canyon
course was in very good shape.they played a eight o'clock shotgun start play was very slow the whole day.
very good experience
All the ingredients came together nicely for a really nice experience. The green were great, staff service, course conditions and the setting with views were excellent. One of our top 3 places in Tucson.
long wakk
The only thing that is a drawback to the course is the walk from the parking lot to the pro shop. No bag drop and you can get lost getting there.
Began with Chaos - Ended Wonderfully
The layout is difficult to comprehend at first...drive here for the practice facilities...OVERLOAD of people trying to ask the starter for favors to get an earlier tee time to no one really bothered to ask me who I am...followed by driving through the neighborhood to the first tee...
I was asked if I would ride with someone b/c I hadn't played there before...Not my favorite way to start a round...especially when the other rider was not a happy camper to see me being forced down their throats.
At least the golf course was incredible and after awhile I got a groove and played decent for my first time out.
Next Time - No I won't be riding with someone you decided for me. Two - be the first one out...
Lush summer desert course
With most courses in Tucson under budget constraints during the summer months, it was a pleasure to play both the Canyon and Mountain courses this last week-end. Both courses were lush and immaculate, Quite a bargain at $29 per round. Making my first hole-in-one on the Canyon #5 made the round even sweeter!
Not monnitored
Course was not monitored and a number of people were jumping on the course without the starter's knowledge. I would not play it again because of the lack of discipline.
This course has alot of elevation changes, and tricky greens
The Mountain course is in good shape. The fairways are a thick carpet, the bunkers are deep with good sand, and the greens putt true. Very difficult and challenging course for any skill level. Higher handicap players better bring several sleeves of balls, the desert surroundings will punish errant tee shots.
Nice Courses
I played both courses on consecutive days. Both are really nice tracks. Condition were really good except for the Greens, especially on the Mountain Course. I think they may have verta cut them recently (clubhouse said no). The Greens were very slow and grainy. I played with some people who play there often and they said they are normally in better shape, so I would take there word on that.
