About The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale

Located in Carefree just north of Scottsdale is the Boulders Resort, a Curio Collection hotel by Hilton. This 1,200-acre resort and community features striking, millions-year-old boulder formations and two, 18-hole golf courses that encircle them. The resort is a village compound with spacious casitas with private balconies, as well as a handful of villas and homes for rent. The golf club features two courses, the North and South, as well as a driving range and golf academy. Boulders is well known for its Golden Door Spa with 33,000 square feet and 24 treatment rooms, plus a wide variety of fitness classes and programming. There are five dining concepts, highlighted by the Spotted Donkey Cantina, well known locally for its Mexican fare. The beauty and tranquility of the Sonoran Desert is on full, luxurious display at the Boulders Resort.

Super slow pace of play. Conditions just above average for the $$

We all know golf in Phoenix area is extremely overpriced but we do all pay it. Played the North Course which is unfortunately Inferior to the South Course. Conditions were average with slightly bumpy firm greens. Thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the area but if you are put on the North course would take a pass until you can get on the South. Pace of Play was not good waited every shot and tee'd off 25 minutes late so barely finished before dark and we had booked a tee time where we should have easily finished.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. The Boulders is competitively price with the golf courses in the North Scottsdale area. The North and South course both have been ranked in the top 100 golf courses and it depends who you ask to what course they prefer. Unfortunately we cant control mother nature and we had a frost delay that pushed tee times back 25 minutes. Our expected pace of play is 4.5 hours and according to our GPS the pace was was a few minutes over 4.5 - Hope to See you again soon.

Beautiful but a little speedy and a slow round. Always busy. Always a 4:50+ hour round.

Nice course. Some narrow fairways make it tough for those who spray the ball.

Nice layout but pace was an issue.

Our tee time was 12:40 and we finished at 5:25. 4:45 can’t be the normal pace.

Greens condition were not as nice as I was expecting for an upscale course.

We played the South Course before and enjoyed the layout and scenery a lot better than North course. The putting greens was not as good as expected. Overall, it is a nice golf club.

Not worth the price

Lots of pitch marks on the green.

Couple quirky holes.

Worth playing the south course one time.

No need to play here multiple times.

Stayed at the resort, and booked on here.

Multiple people told me the south course is better so I didn’t bother to play the north.

Always a good play

I read some of the previous reviews of the course that it was not in that great of shape. I have played this course in the past and it is definitely not as good as it used to be. I know they had some trouble in the summer with some sort of grass growing in apparently.

The Superintendent's job is maybe on the line the way he tore a strip off of me when I was parked on the wrong side of the cart directional signs well over 100 yards from the green. In my defense they were cart directional signs, not "no carts" signs. A friendly reminder would have been better than the way he interacted with me.

I do love this course and will be back in the future, the Superintendent might not be....
