Staff...
Everyone we encountered was great excep for the starters..rather rude and no course info given..ie, pin placement, etc.
Top Notch
Great golf course. Played the North course. I have played this course several times. It is always in great shape and well maintained. I highly recommend it.
Avoid this course
This course needs a total over overhaul . Greens were a disaster . No views at all and the course is closed in with dead or overgrown vegetation . Pace of lay was the slowest I have experienced but I rarely play scruffy courses such as The Boulders. Every one in our group quit on the 14th hole as the play was so slow we all lost our interest. Management said “too bad , you booked with GolfNow!!”
Great desert course
This was a beautiful course and nice challenges. Rocks can either be a hindrance or a blessing, as in the case of my pinball luck on the first hole that landed me a bogey with a one putt :-).
Downsides were that this is a private resident course open to the public and the rangers were riding us for the first 9 even though we had 4 players and were close behind the group in front of us. They put 2somes and 3somes behind us who were riding us. Finally split us up but not effective because then we just ended up on top of the 4some in front of us. Very annoying and stressful for us vacationers who wanted to just relax and enjoy the $100 price tag. Also not enough water stations on the south course for it being a desert course. All in all would still play it again if the price was right.
Boulders South
The course has incredible natural beauty with enormous features, boulders, framing several holes and fairways.
The driving range was nice, putting green in a different zip code which was not convenient. As a private course the members likely know their way around the complex. As a guest, the signage is lacking. It is easy to make wrong turns.
The course is beautiful, demanding. The ranger manages to a 4.5 hour round so take extra balls. You won’t be allowed to look for your wayward shots. The desert setting is nice.
We are at “the grill” after the round and the food there is just OK. They could do better.
Course intended for better golfers. Maybe those with handicaps less than 12?
Have fun, worth the visit.
Great Course a little too expensive
The course was beautiful and I saved $20 or $30 for a HOT deal. The condition of fairways and rough were great, but several Greens had bad spots on the greens . I would play this course a lot more if the Greens fees were 25% less. I will look for another Hot Deal though. One of the thing I liked most is that the Practice Green was same exact speed as course greens and the stimp speed was posted at 11 near the starter.
Great condition, great pace of play.
Course was in fantastic shape, very challenging layout. I’ll be playing the Boulders on each of my visits.
One of my favorites
Excellent greens...you can fire at the pins. Always in great shape and fun to play. Even the “members “ were friendly
This course was very different from the other 6 we played. The scenery is really cool and makes you feel like your a flinstone. It was the shortest course we played (7000) but was still challenging enough off the tee and around the greens. Course was in GREAT shape and would recommend any skill level to play this one as it has like 7 tee boxes for all skill levels
Great Destination
We stayed and played and can't recommend it highly enough, beautiful golf course coupled with excellent accomodation. Only one warning, don't try and retrieve balls anywhere near the Cactus, I did and suffered the pain! Will definately be back on our next trip from Australia.
Great views, But pricey
View of the boulders were spectacular. Fairways were in good consition but the rough was dried out which made the course a ball eater. A bit pricey for the conditions as a result. We learned that the course did not overseed in the fall which probably affected the rough and other parts of the course. Nonetheless an enjoyable round.
Excellent
We got a $65 rate, a steal for this course. We had an excellent lunch before the round. Pace was right at 4 hours. Course was in great shape except the greens were bumpy and a little shaggy as it was the end of the day. I’d love to play this course again.
The Best
This is just a great place to play golf, beautiful beyond words, with one great hole after another.
It would be very hard to get any better than this.
As good as advertised
Playing the Boulders is like stepping back to Bedrock with the Flintstones! Incredible beauty that has been thousands of years in the making. The staff was over the top nice. My wife road along and they treated her as a player and welcomed her and thanked her for coming along. I'd recommend it for everyone's bucket list.
Wonderful course great views
This is a great course with a great staff speedy greens and great vistas.
Play
Great day and desert golf for us Canadiens in Scottsdale for 8 days.
Spectacular vistas!
The views in all directions were stunning
However had too much time to look at them as pace of play was extremely slow
Front 9 shorter but more challenging
Definitely worth the price to play there
