It was a nice course but there were a lot of hazards or course problems that were unknown to a first time player and there were no maps to warn of upcoming problems.
Stone creek Gold Club
Reviews have been mixed for this course but decided to play based on value, which it was comparatively speaking. Generally the fairways were in good condition except for some gopher holes. Outside the fairway was hard pan. Traps were inferior but I see that a lot in area courses. Pace of play was terrible behind some novice golfers. Out of bounds areas were filled with trash, which needs immediate attention. All-in-all not as bad as some of the reviews and generally a good value but some improvement is needed.

Great track only thing wish they had GPS on the golf carts as there's lots of trouble off the tee box also for pin placement overall best course for the money
everything great except for group of women behind us complained to staff we were to slow . We played in less then the recommended time . plus we were waiting on group in front of us most of the time .
Very Green and Challenging
I’ve played about 20 courses in the area so far and this one has the most trees and green overall I’ve seen. More places to lose your ball compared to most which is a fun challenge. The pro shop and starting area is well organized. Overall I think this course gives me $100-200 quality on a $50-100 green fee. Recommend it. I’m a 75-83 average round golfer.
Fun course
course was n good shape place was packed but pace was goid
COURSE IS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE AND THEY ARE LETTING IT GO
I have a home on this course and just came back from Canada. There are holes throughout this course and they have let this course go. I was extremely disappointed when I drove this course. Every home is affected by gofers ruining homes. There are thousands of holes found throughout the course. When a group of us contacted the course, their answer was....contact the owners out of dallas. No such company! I found the gentlemen that goes under the name of Brandon to be quite rude. They no longer maintain this course. And, it's evident some very serious matters are going on. A group of homeowners are coming together to hold them liable for all the destruction these gofers have cause over 221 homes. the golf course claims they hired a gofer professional but cannot give us a name or phone number. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND GOLFING AT THIS GOLF COURSE
Needs a lot better upkeep
Mostly disappointed whenever I've played this course. Great location and nice layout but always in need of better repair. Sand traps are terrible, very inconsistent, some with weeds in them and others with almost no sand. Several bare spots both in the fairways and tee boxes. When I walked in the golf shop there were 4 guys behind the counter but only one checking people in. Lots of people not playing golf walking and biking all over the course that is very distracting. Won't be back as there are too many courses in the valley that are in much better condition with friendly staff that want your business.
Old Stoney is steady
You can count on this course being in top notch shape & a fair test for any golfer. Different tee boxes give you all you can handle to a reasonable test. Marshall kindly reminded us to keep pace & wasn't overbearing.. Beverage service was fantastic & Robin was a highpoint with her good nature. I never hesitate to recommend Old Stoney.......
