Apathy is apparent
Pace of play was not an issue because it was a weekday afternoon. But no water on the back nine at all and the beverage cart checked on us before teeing off and on hole #3. That is borderline hostility to players. Course conditions are awful even for Arizona summer standards. Often times there was no grass a couple feet off the greens. And the vegetation is far too overgrown to the point you can't see across it to landing areas. And an added bonus there are no visible yardage markers so much of the course is pure guesswork. I got a cheap rate and live 2 miles away and still feel it wasn't worth it at all.
Decent Track
Decent course. Played in July so you can't expect the course to be perfect when it's 110°. Almost 6,900 yards from the tips so you can hit most of the clubs in your bag. Greens were small so some tucked pins were hard to get close to. Bunkers need some fresh sand though.
Trash
Played this course for the first time. Would not go back because of the conditions. There is no grass. It is weeds and dirt. Tee boxes were a joke. There were random people (not staff or other golfers) just wandering around the course. If you tee off before 10 AM the course is a swamp. I never write reviews, but this course definitely warranted one.
Very Slow
Everything good except pace of play.. No Marshall's any where to be found. Made for a boring round.
Comfortable
Always a good day when you are golfing.
Waited 20 min. to be able to hit range balls. Course was a bit dried out in places. Took 15 min. to check in. Associate was on a phone call. Waited at least 20min. before we got the go ahead to tee off. That's how long it took after the green was cleared. Cooled down enough after hitting range balls to make me think hitting balls was a waste of time. All other associates were friendly and helpful. Was hot and was doing my best to be patient. Just much longer waiting that expected and I was not the only one who noticed.
Great Day and Great Round.
I have played your course and thought it was a very difficult course but decided to come and play again. Man am I glad I did. It was a fantastic day and round on your course. Thanks
Great layout
Love the layout of the course. Plenty of bunkers in the fairway and around the greens, so accuracy is important. Greens have little breaks that can be hard to read, so placement on the greens with your approach shot. A good challenging course for all levels of golfers.
Good day on the course
First time playing this course and it was enjoyable.
Course was flooded
Played here before and it was nice, but this time the sprinklers were on almost every hole we played. And maintenance staff would wait until after we played thru to turn off. Several times the greens were more like water hazards than greens. Was very disappointed with this visit, and probably won't be back again.
Challenging but fair....
Greens, tees and fairways all in pretty decent condition, some of the sand traps could have used a bit more sand but others seemed to be in fine condition. A lot of the holes especially on the front nine had water and marshy areas that came into play. The back nine was a bit more open and seemed to show some of the rougher edges, less water but quite a few more humps and bumps leading to uneven lies but that is not to say that is a bad thing. The course has 5 sets of tees and on the card it hints at what tee you should play depending on your handicap. Overall with all its nuances, I found it to be a thinking man’s challenge especially on the front. I look forward to playing it again....when it is in my price range....
Thought I was playing a cheap muni
I have played here many times before and for $60 I thought I’d get the same experience that I’ve always got but boy was I wrong the fairways had bigger dead spots in them I’ve seen better bunkers at a five dollar Muni the greens were so beat up you’d be lucky to get a flat roll if you want to save your money and play the same kind of course play legends at arrowhead it’s only 30
Greens slower than previous rounds
Also the sand traps were poor - some were wet and the sand was hard and crusty and shallow
Not worth the money
Not one Sandtrap was a Sandtrap the receding job was a joke overcrowded greens are not nice I should’ve taken pictures to show you
Disappointed
Roughs are a disaster. Too many artificial humping of fairways. Variable fairway conditions. Lots of artificially and poorly placed rough areas. Ball washers poorly maintained, some unworkable. Couple of water containers empty. Greens in decent condition. Bunkers not raked since rain. Would not return.
