wet and cold
very wet, could only play front 9 twice, back was closed due to been to wet
Improved pace of play
Stonecreek is in a part of town popular with tourist and located adjacent to a resort hotel. In previous visits I have been disappointed in the pace of play and was reluctant to return. Maybe because of the upcoming holidays it was less crowded than usual, or maybe because of pace the play recommendations in the cart we finished in four hours. Excellent! The course is in good conditions. Some sand traps were a little thin.
Always a challenge!
This course always presents a challenge, which is a good thing!! Not the best condition, could use better drainage in spots. It's a course you need to get to know as it's difficult to figure out on your first go.
A little wind, cooler than normal but a fine day on the links.
Good greens and lots of bunkers
This is a fun course to play. Fairways and greens are in very good shape with lots of well placed bunkers to challenge the accuracy of your tee shots. Par 3's are a challenging length and bunker protected. I would recommend this course and would play it again.
Nice escape from the desert courses in Phoenix
Love this place, very well maintained course and great value for winter rates.
Attractive Course
Until today I hadn't played Stone Creek since 2016. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh look of the course. I had remembered it as being not a very interesting course. Thought it was quite attractive today. Greens were true. Pace of play was extremely slow (4 hours and 40 minutes). A ranger is needed to get groups moving and playing off the right tee boxes.
Course is poorly managed
Greens need cutting in big way
Way too slow
Sandless Traps
Really liked the course layout, fairways and greens in very good shape, the bunkers have no sand in them, it is dirt and after it rains they are either mud or as hard as concrete, thankfully I didn’t end up in too many because it cost me a number of strokes.
However the course is an enjoyable and it was close to the 4 hour 10 minute round they suggest on the score cards, but that could be due more to the level of some of the players.
Marshall’s suck
Soaking wet course. Extremely rude Marshall’s . I will never be back. Can’t recommend this course to anyone.
All good although course a little wet!
A nice layout, plenty of challenge. Even before today's storm, this course has wet spots.. Need barricades to keep people from driving through the muddy patches. Should be obvious but some folks not respectful and the damage continues..
Disappointed
Our day didn’t start well. The range hitting areas were bare with very little grass. The range is open to the public and we had to wait before we could hit. The sign on the first tee stated #2 pin position for today. However after three holes we discovered the pins were in position #1.
The phase of play was slow and it took 5 hours. The course was in good condition from the over seed.
Nice Course
Beautiful course but hazards not well marked. Fellow in the pro shop told us the pin placements were 2 when they were actually 3. It was nice that it was not cart path only as the last few times we’ve played it it has been. We teed off at 12:28 and barely finished before it got dark.
Surprised
I played Stonecreek this summer and it was in poor condition. After the over seeding it is really in good shape. Greens are good, grass green and lush, tee boxes are good and fairways are well maintained. The course has some very good holes that will give your game a challenge.
