The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Most Enjoyable Round In a While
I had a great time during my first visit to the Red Course - probably the most pleasant golf experience in a while. The practice areas are nice, huge putting green, plenty of driving range spots. We were hitting off of mats on the range, though. Hopefully only until winter grass gets a bit more established? Staff was so friendly throughout the day, especially the ranger and check-in staff. I did get turned around getting to the first hole - could have used a bit more detail from the young man dolling out carts who just told me "go that way". Made it halfway through the Gold course before I was like there is just no way this is right and turned around. Fairways are the most lush I have seen on an AZ course in a while. I thought the greens were rolling pretty fast - accidentally blew past the hole on a few putts. It is a fairly simple layout with only a few bunkers and water hazards to punish you. The mature trees lining the fairways were the most encountered obstacles. I would absolutely play this course again!
In a senior city
70-year-old woman wasn't allowed to ride along with her husband or ride along with her son because they didn't allow it here at wigwam. It's weird not to allow people to enjoy a good day out with their family when they're still paying extra money to do so. The course was mediocre and best. The staff is rude and impatient. Landscaper is always in the way and I don't really understand the point of being rude to somebody who wants to ride along when every other course in Arizona lets you. So I guess we just won't play Yorkers and we'll play every other one
Garbage staff
Disgraceful golf course abuses retired old women and doesn't show them courtesy or appreciation doesn't help them get from A to B if they need help walking doesn't let them ride along with you so they can have a good day and be outside. Terrible quality course. Terrible greens. Terrible Pace. What a disrespectful joint. I help nobody else plays this golf course and it goes out of business. A shame to yourself. Treat old women like that
Great course but got stuck behind league play
Great course conditions. Greens were fast and true. Got stuck behind league play so the pace of play was a little slow.
Excellent condition
Great course, fairways and green excellent condition. Bunkers soft sand, steep making them challenging
Look forward to playing again
Enjoyed the day as pace of play was quick….3.5 hours despite cart path only!
Bogeyfree
Course was in nice condition, a little wet in some spots but playable. Will definitely come back and play it again after ‘cart path only’ restriction is lifted.
They are overbooking
I’ve played this course many many times. But I’m likely done and will just play VERRADO from now on. The pace of play was the worst I’ve ever seen playing golf in my entire life. No joke. They seem to have lowered prices a little and overbooked. We waited 3-5 minutes on EVERY SINGLE HOLE. Every single tee we pulled up to, starting in the first tee, the other players in front of us hadn’t even teed off yet. The round was getting close to 5 hours and it got dark. Players behind us didn’t even get to finish.
Totally unacceptable.
Ok course
Course was in good shape but layout is definitely not for me. Straight and boring. Range was mat only.
Excellent good choice
Even though that the course was cart path only as advertised, the day went smooth with a course in excellent condition. Greens were little slow as expected, but in good shape. Overall once cart path only is lifted it will be a great place to play as usual.
Outstanding Red Course
The overseeding was excellent. The quality of the greens and Fairways are outstanding. Always a great day at wigwam
Pure Gold
How I would describe the Gold Course, Great shape for just coming out of overseed.
Greens were a little slow but consistent, overall great experience.
Great time
Enjoyed my round on this course from check in to the finish of the round. It did not disappoint
Excellent
I would play this course again. Worth the time and $$.
First Time
My son goes to college near by in Surprise, he has played the Red Course and loved it. So I booked it for us, it doesn't disappoint pace was amazing, greens where wonderfull, Can't wait to play the Gold Course.
