Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Worth it
Played here and so far the best course I have played in the area. Pace of play was great as was the condition of the course.
Mid level course with goofy rules
Can’t purchase the whole cart to allow spouses to ride; “only 2 carts out per tee time”. Delayed start due to tournament, Cart GPS not working..
Red course
I played 36 holes in one day. After I finished i couldn't find my rental car. I'm lucky Ia nice young man "Danny" I believe drove me around in a golf cart until we found it. If you've never been to wigwam it's very easy to get lost.
Wigwam Red
Good time, great condition, greens definitely provide some challenge!
Wigwam Red
First time playing Red course. Booked it by mistake as I wanted to play the blue course. Turned out great!! None of us had played that course before and each one of us said it was our favorite of the three. Course was in great shape. Greens were challenging but not overly hard. Rolled true. Wide tree lined fairways. Overall a great round of golf. Will definitely be back.
Really fun golf course
We have played the red course several times in the past and always enjoyed it. This time was the same. Despite the dry conditions in Phoenix, the red course is in quite good condition. It has a nice variety of holes from easy to difficult. There are a number of doglegs which makes play interesting. The greens are excellent.
Golfer Lady
It was a very hot day so my partner and I only played 9 holes. The pace of play was perfect, played 9 holes in less than 2 hours. An added bonus was there were areas of shade which I had never noticed before.
Excellent course and location
This complete the trifecta at Wigwam…I have played the Blue and Gold courses and the Red course was the final stop. Course was in phenomenal condition.
Amenities are outstanding. Range, putting greens and the Proshop are top notch.
Only complaint was the distance to the Red course from the Proshop. Almost “missed” our tee time. Give yourself 10 minutes to get over to the 1st tee as it is quite a ride. As a plus we were treated to the Blue Angels flying around in formation during the round. While it was unsettling when trying to putt it didn’t hurt the round and added to the experience.
For the price you can’t beat any of the Wigwam courses!
Love Wigwam, just not the price
We love all the Wigwam courses, but the prices have really gone up over the past few years and this may be the last time we golf there as there are better courses for the money - especially since the on course ameneties have not kept up either.
Over 100 degrees and no water in the carts and nothing but old water fountains throughout the course which with the heat in Arizona, is just crazy! (Blue has an upgraded water refiller that you see twice which is great, but nothing on red).
Everything else about wigwam red is great. Course is lovely with lots of shade, people are nice and course was in decent shape as well. Just about value.
Good Fun Course
The course was in good condition. It is a good layout with some very interesting holes. A group of players can really have a run competitive round.
lady golfer
The starting time was 30 minutes late and the pace of play was very slow.. It took almost 50 minutes to play the first 3 holes. I have played this course previously and really enjoyed it...but today was horrible!
