Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Very nice
Pretty nice little course,,makes u feel good about ur game
Thank you Wigwam…
A very good experience—played the Red course today,. Friendly staff, great conditions, nice pace of play.
Terrific Golf. Great Value.
Expectations exceeded all around. I highly recommend Wigwam Golf Course. Staff very friendly and helpful with directions with a first-timer. Course conditions were immaculate.
Good Course
The reason for the 4 out of 5 is for one reason only. Marshall on 16th hole came out and told us we were behind a couple of minutes, now let me set this up. 110 degrees, no one for 2 holes in front of us and no one behind us for 2 holes and they were a two-some. We were playing with "newer" golfers and since we weren't causing any back ups let them play their game.
Other than this hiccup the Red course is easy, wide and very playable. I'm retired, play 2-3 times a week and live on a private executive course. Been on vacation and hadn't touched a club in about a month so very rusty. The wide fairways are forgiving. Tee time was 6am and with the heat by the time we were done, we didn't use any of the facilities and headed straight home to jump in the pool. So can't comment on Wigwam other than the property is very pretty.
Red is the Best
For August play the Red Course was in great shape. Greens were tough but fair. Fairways were rebounding from being aerated. Great layout. Going to be tough to play in the Fall, Winter and Spring...Enjoy it NOW!
Rec By Far
Wigwam red has everything a great golf course should have....fairness, challenges and is kept in good condition despite the heat of the summer sun.
The Best of the Three
The red course has a certain personality that the blue and Gold do not have although they are good courses as well. The greens were in fantastic shape and the fairways were fine for this time of year. Play moved along and that 18th hole is a tough one if you don't hit your drive long and straight. Definitely a must play.
Place needs TLC
12 of us played the blue course. Fairways need water and grass will grow. Hit off dirt with sparse grass. 2 places (almost missed them) to get water. No ice. No water jugs. Saw the cart girl on 18. She didn't even slow down, just gave us a thumbs up as she sped by. It was 116 degrees. No Marshall. If you have a medical emergency, no one from the golf staff will find you. The "Marshall" sits under a umbrella at the start and turn and checks you off the list as you come by. Gee thanks fella. It's a money drop with a marginal golf course at best. Fir the same money you could play a nicer course. Reds-the dining place, was good though.
Weekday early morning tee time and it took us over 4 hours to complete the round. The tee boxes had patchy grass, but the greens were in good shape. I noticed only two water fountains on the course and no water jugs.
It's summertime..
I get it, it's summertime in Phoenix so the courses are suffering. Having said that, It hasn't even really been hot yet this year. And for the fairways to be in as poor of condition as these are, I was really disappointed. The greens are in decent shape, and the tee boxes are a decent shape, but the fairways are very, very sparse. Grass is hard to find in some places.
3 to Choose From
Having 3 courses to choose from there, I wondered what was reason why it was always difficult to get on the Red Course but not the Gold and Blue courses. The red was in great shape. Nice challenging layout. Greens were a bit bumpy but it was expected as they were bouncing back from being aerated. Loved everything about the course from tee to green on all 18.
Good Round with Cousins
Excellent service from the pro shop to the car girl course is in good playing condition i will definitely play again
Excellent Day
The course was in really good shape and the staff was super friendly!
