Wigwam Resort - Red Course

About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Good course, unfortunate frost delay
I really liked the course, unfortunately a frost delay had the course stacked up like crazy. Even at 2pm I had to wait 30min past my tee time to get out. Starter was really nice and did his best with the situation.
Frost delay
There was an hour &1/2 frost delay which pushed our tee time back to 2:00, obviously we didn’t finish all 18, we had to quit because of darkness after 15.
Great Day on a Fun Golf Course
My Cousin is in town visiting from Canada and I wanted to show him a more familiar layout than the Desert Courses we have plenty of here in Maricopa County. Most players find the desert a little intimidating so I thought a more park like round would suit his eye. The course was in good shape, greens rolling fast and the pace of play was excellent for this time of year.
Where’s the ranger
I had a 10:30 tee time I swear only had about 16 people on the whole course at wigwam red but still took over 4.5 hours to finish the round. The ranger did come around not to speed up no play but to keep the carts on the path when it was just 3 yards off the path also I had five hip replacements and recently a total knee replacement I asked I have a handicap place card it didn’t matter to him sorry wigwham scam take my money thank you man
Great course but limited food and never
It was a great courses, and I enjoyed it very much. Because it was colder they weren’t a lot of people to play at a reasonable pace. The staff was very friendly.
The one weakness was the food and beverage or lack there of. We played the red course which is a half a mile away from the other amenities of the wigwam. The temperature was 45° with wind. They had plenty of cold drinks, but they didn’t have any kind of a warm drink and acted surprised we would even ask about it. The only option we would’ve had would’ve been to have driven back to the main course complex to see if they had something. Why would you not have coffee or hot chocolate when the temperature is less than 50°?
A Day To Remember
Just a perfect day. Wife, son and father. Doesn’t get any better.
Choices
Wigwam provides a country club experience, with choice of 3 courses, expansive practice facilities, and on-site dining. GPS equipped, electric golf carts are included. The red course is parkland style and fairly forgiving with minimal hazards. Staff friendliness is a course highlight.
Great course
This course is good for all levels of golfers. Pace of play was great. Beautiful scenery. Lots of water features. One of our favourite places to golf in this area.
Wigwam Red Course
The Red Course At Wigwam is always enjoyable.
The facility is very nice. Great practice areas.

The course has generous, fairways and greens are in good shape. The 18th hole on the red course is very tricky and needs to be played more than once to figure it out unless you’re really lucky! Overall a fun course that is much better on weekends to reduce the jet noise from Luke Air Force Base!
A good and interesting course.
Play run it very cold day where the temperature barely reach 50°. Course was in good shape. Greens are very fast and quite tricky. The course in general is in very good condition. When we got a flat tire on the cart, they came out in a reasonable amount of time. Through GolfNow we got a good deal on what would’ve otherwise been a expensive round.
Only complaint was food and beverage services on the course. When it’s this cold, having hot drinks seems a no-brainer. Except there were none on the red course at all. What a little coffee they had had had apparently run out by 1030, and they had no hot water for hot chocolate. Nor were they willing to go back to the main clubhouse to get this. Since the red course is a half mile away from everything else, that meant we basically were out of luck. I think their food and beverage service did very little business today, and they could have done extreme business if they had had what people wanted. Wasn’t really interested in the cold drinks that they did have.
Repeat visit
outstanding white fluffy sand! Played this same course back in mid November. Returned to play it again on this trip. Course is walkable, but the trek you have to make from the clubhouse to the 1st tee and back to the clubhouse from the 18th green is a long walk by itself.
Very good
Slow due to 5 sum in fron playing from blue tees and were orange at best. Really a let down for.a course like this.
Course has a very repetitive and uninteresting layout other than 18. Fairways could have been in better shape. Excellent pace of play.
Wigwam Red Course
The staff were etremely friendly. Although the half way house on the red course was closed mid afternoon on the day I played. I was paired with a retired air firce gentleman and his grandsons. They were amazing friendly people that were helpful in playing this course. I would definitely play this course again when in Phoenix. Excellent value for the money.
