Wigwam Resort - Gold Course

Waiting every shot anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Workers told me that 1 of the 3 courses is shut down for maintenance and another told me that the Gold course would be shutting down for maintenance next week. If today’s pace of play is indicative of how pace of play will be when they work on the Gold course then I would advise you to stay as far away from this course as possible. Other than the pace of play the course layout was good, it’s an RTJ course so that’s to be expected but the overall condition of the course made it apart that maintenance is very much needed. Long story short good course layout, iffy course conditions, and just horrible pace of play DO NOT PLAY until they figure it out

I played the blue course and now I’ve played the gold. I absolutely love these courses, nice beautiful trees lining the fairways and fast greens. Cool layout and my round was 3 hours and 20 mins. I’m excited to play the red course now!

Nice surroundings. Not a desert course. Very flat course with elevated greens that are well bunkered. Easy off the tee but shots to green can be challenging.

The course looks fairly easy, BUT NO, greens are very good, fairways good, around the greens it's where the course bits you. if you short side yourself, you are looking at double bogie or worse. most greens are on table tops.

I was in a bunker 20ft. from the hole, landed short of the whole and it rolled off the green 40 ft away.

Nice layout, nice greens, and friendly staff. Only down side was the slow pace of play. Group two tee times in front of us was waiting for a late player that pushed us back on our start time and they continued to play slow the rest of the round, so much our playing partners quit on the seventh hole.

First time playing this course coming from Georgia. Great layout, pro shop was nice, and carts had yardage set up on the screen front center and back. I like that they provided USGA compliant yardage books which really helps if you’re an experiences golfer. One thing I learned from the first time playing this RTJ course is that you MUST strategize your shot and get in position rather than distance. Don’t go at pins, your best bet is to get in position to chip on to the green. Just my advice as a +6 handicap. This course helped me learn strategy as this is a championship course. The greens could’ve been a bit better on some of the holes but overall it was a good round, layout and experience.

Played golf course in mint condition a bit slow with a college tourney ahead of us but great value and a great track. Always play when in town.

Very challenging course. RTJ likes to slope slopes his greens and around the green to make your ball end up in the bunkers. You beed to take care of your shots. I knew that would be the case going in so it didn't surprise me to have to play a number of bunker shots. It was a very challenging course and it was in great shape.

This is my first time playing any of the Wigwam courses and I found it pleasant. Don't be in a rush when playing, especially for a Friday afternoon tee time. Course is fun and challenging, mainly because of the elevated and unforgiving greens. And conditions of the greens were a bit under whelming, but I am told the snowbirds tend to leave them quite thrashed.
