Wigwam Resort - Blue Course

About
The Wigwam Resort possesses three 18-hole courses, the Blue Course, the Red Course, and the Gold Course. All three courses were built on a rolling terrain with mature creeks sprinkled throughout and meandering creeks running through, which can all affect shots. The Blue Course is the shortest of the three courses but Blue plays long due to the elevated greens. The creeks create water hazards that come into play on several holes and there are also many strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course as well. The Wigwam Resort facility has various practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Good timing
The golf was great. Played te Blue Course. Our starter was very personable which started the round off on the right foot.
Course condition for Wigwam was fair with dry areas and thinning grass.
We were the last group off for the day so pace of play was excellent.
The Golf Shop staff were friendly and helpful.
The restaurant food was good. since we came in through the "back door" there was no staff to advise seating so we just sat at a table....for about 10 minutes! finally a waitress asked if we had checked in at the front...no we hadn't as we came in the back door with no such person.. We found the correct person and sat back at the same table! Qn exercise in futility. Staff otherwise was slow but food was good and arrived in a timely manner. Thanks
Course was in bad shape. Many patchy areas on the course.
mn GOLFER
We were not happy with the condition of the course. Many of the fairways were not in good condition. We found the course very dry and the some of the greens also were not in good shape. Very disappointing. Not sure when I will be back.
Overall good experience
I hesitate to give out 5 stars due to two issues. About half of the fairways were burnt out - thin grass on dirt and most of the bunkers (not all) needed a sand refill. Maybe this is due to late season .This was a departure from past experience when fairways were green/lush and bunker sand was consistent. Overall, a good experience, and a favorite course to play in the Phoenix area.
Love this course!
Worth the price! Course is always in great shape, free range balls, friendly staff.
Late lunch after
Played the course in a bit over 4 hours then a late lunch at the restaurant. All in all a good time. Course is pretty nice and in good shape.
Fun “resort” course, but where was the beverage cart??
This is your typical resort course with high traffic and not exactly speedy play. Some fairways were showing spotty conditions for mid-April. Red’s restaurant is a pleasant 19th hole, especially if it’s not too hot and you can sit outside under one of the plentiful umbrellas. Main (only) Complaint: the beverage cart checked in with us as we were Leaving the First Tee at 9:50 am, and we never saw a beverage cart again! Simply inexcusable. That by itself is a reason to not return, and will be shared with my golfing friends. Get it together, “RESORT” course, because it sure didn’t feel like vacation in Arizona!
