About Tubac Golf Resort & Spa

Tubac Golf Resort & Spa is located south of Tucson in Southern Arizona on the historic, 500-acre Otero Ranch dating to 1789. This resort dating back to 1959 features 27 holes of golf, spa, tennis and year-round swimming in an intimate village setting with 98 guest rooms and casitas. The property underwent a significant renovation in 2008 which included the addition of a new spa and salon, clubhouse and 17th-century mission-style chapel. There are 52 haciendas, 20 casitas and 27 spacious posada rooms. There is 2,700 square feet of conference space. The resort is famous for being used as a location for the filming of the movie Tin Cup.

Unknown oasis

You may have a different perception of desert after playing here. Mature mesquite trees and cottonwoods lined the course. Horses and cattle made appearances as well. Unique.

Price High For Course Conditions

Had not played Tubac in awhile. Course conditions were fair at best. Greens not receptive and had many bare or damaged spots. Fairways were O.K. but cut very tight.

Major housing construction all around the course which really takes away from the overall golf experience I remember in the past. We thought the $50 greens fee was too steep based on the fact it is summer in AZ and based on the lack of great course conditioning.

Really unique golf course and lots of fun to play. The low hanging mesquite trees give it a quote on quote ranch type feel. Challenging golf course for intermediate player. Absolutely will play again.
