Forgot to ask...
I forgot to ask about tournaments and found out at the last minute that there was a fundraising shotgun start going off just ahead of us. There were non golfers at many of the tees from local companies specifically there to display their brands. It was distracting at times because the non golfers didn't know to keep silent when somebody is teeing off.
I had heard that the food at this course was good but the pre-made Tuna sandwich I had before we teed off was soggy, tasteless and there was some grit in the lettuce. I tried one of the Veggie wraps at the turn and found it to be below average. It had been frozen so the lettuce was soggy and wilted and not completely thawed out. It was hard to enjoy eating ice crystals.
The pace of play was a tad slow and I found the greens to be a bit substandard for this course.
This was not my most enjoyable round at Yocha Dehe and I hope that the next is better. I will remember to ask about tournaments next time.
Yoche dehe "awesome course"
I found Yoche dehe a great course to play friendly staff, great layout, I would definitely recommend it to others!! Can't wait to play the course again! :)
top 10 for sure !
This is one of the best values in California, awesome layout, always a great experience. A must play...play it once and you'll be planning your next visit asap.
Fairways and Greens baby !
Nice round.
The only problems we had was the pace was a bit slower than normal because of a tournament. The fact that there was a tournament also meant the greens were not in good shape by the time we tee'd off. Other than this, we had no issues whatsoever! I highly recommend this course!!
BEST COURSE IN NORTH CALIF
BEST GOLF COURSE IN NORTH CALIF
The driving, putting, chipping areas are best and
not forgotten. Most Golf courses have forgotten
these areas. The better golfers want to practice
before going out on the golf course.
Love it! Fantastic!
Have played this course about 15 times now, and I can't wait to come back. Love everything about the experience here. Truly an upscale club like atmosphere in all respects. The course is fantastic. The practice facilities, restaurant, lounge, bar, and clubhouse are incredible. The service and overall staff friendliness are exceptional and second to none. It is my favorite place to play In Northern California!
Consistently Good
Great spring day of golf. Only going to get better. Staff are here to make your experience enjoyable and seem well trained to do so. No shortcuts on service that I have ever seen. Course conditions are consistently high quality.
Yocha
This course is always nice since they opened in 2008
The best course in Sacramento area
Always looking forward playing here. The staff is always ready to help and the clubhouse is so beautiful.
Love this course
The greens had just been punched and were therefore very fast and difficult to read. Most shots sped through the breaks, no matter how soft they were hit. Other than that, the course was in excellent shape and the staff were all extremely pleasant.
Great course
I regularly drive 90 miles to play Yocha Dehe. Yes, it is that good. And the staff there is very courteous.
Yocha is always a good time.
Yocha Dehe is always one of the top courses around. Greens, fairways and tee boxes are always pristine.
Enjoyed the course
Played Yoche De He first time. Nice track. Will play again.
Best so Far.
I only been playing golf 2 years now. To date Yoche Dehe is the Best so far. Beautiful course & awesome layout. The staff is also excellent.
Lives up to all it's accolades!
It's everything it's purported to be.
*Loved the launch off the 1st tee. Wish there were more holes like this.
*Fairways, teeboxes, greens and bunkers are meticulous. Unfortunately, I tested the bunkers more than I'd like ;)
*Snack bar at 9.
*Beverage cart stopped in 3 times.
*Group in front of us had us waiting a bit and it was "cart path only" due to recent rains yet we STILL finished in 4.0 hrs.
*Nice restaurant, great food and bev selection.
*Every staff member we encountered was very gracious. Starter provided tips. Outside services cleaned my clubs when I came off 18. I never even clean my clubs! Now I can see what brand I've been playing! Woo hoo!
-My only very minor negative might be in course design. I personally, like to feel a bit lost on the back 9 as if I am away from things. Think Carmel Valley Ranch, San Juan Oaks, The Ranch SJ. Here you are pretty much in sight of the facilities throughout your round. But that's just me being particular. Don't let it stop you from getting out to play this course.
-Oh and I wish the hotel was more accessible. They cater more to the gambling crowds getting a room than the golfers. I think you might need a frequent players card (gambling) or something to stay but don't quote me on that. I would've loved to spend the night as I had a long drive to make home from there. Next time, I'll spend the night in nearby Woodland.
One of my favorites!
Yocha Dehe is a hidden gem that needs to be experienced by all. I have played Yocha over 10 times and have never had anything to complain about. The staff is totally awesome and the course is perfect. The layout is challenging, but fair. I have not been here since moving down to San Diego last year, but I might make the trip up to play this course a couple times. This course really needs to be on your bucket list of courses because it is on par with courses like Pebble, Spyglass, and any of the TPC courses. If you were to pick Yocha up and put it in the bay area it would easily be a $400+ golf course. I will leave you with this.. I keep a running top 10 of my favorite golf courses, and Yocha beats Edgewood, Torrey, and Pelican Hill. Go play Yocha. You will fall in love with the course as I have.
One of the best golf experience in 2016
I ran across a $65 pp deal on GolfNow and was told about this course 5-6 times in the last month. It did not disappoint, a must play for golf fans!
Beautiful course, worth every penny
I've been waiting to play this course for over 6 months and it was worth the wait.
Yes, it was a bit cold at 8 AM on Thanksgiving morning but the staff did their best to help us by providing us with water, coffee, and warm towels. The marshal's were very friendly and let us know when we could drive on the grass.
The course itself was beautiful and very challenging. I would love to see this play when the vineyards are in full bloom and when it's not as cold. My only regret is not checking out the 19th hole.
Great course!
Interesting holes all around and corse in great shape. Greens rolled true; golfers, pick up your feet when you walk and don't drag them creating drag marks. Ditto on not dragging clubs off the green. Buck up!
Hello,
Thank you for your review and we are sorry to see you had a sub-par experience with us. We have forwarded your review to our food and beverage team to take a look at your feedback on the tuna sandwich and veggie wrap. Hopefully we can make it better so thank you.
Thanks again for the review and we will strive to meet your expectations next time.
