Nice! Course and Great Conditions!
This is a Beautiful course in great conditions. Little challenging but not too much most of the time is fair. Long drive to get there. I got pair up with some nice fox who help me with course knowledge. We didn't get to finished because of slow play. Now the Staff people were Jerks from the person inside the Club House to the person in charge of the carts.NOT friendly at all. If you haven't play this course I'll say give it a try. Maybe you get lucky and the Staff will be NICER to you. Me I don't think I will comeback.
cart path only
The course would have received a higher rating if it wasn't just roped off to having the cart left to the cart path only. Parts of the course have steep hills.
Beautiful course
Great track. Great staff top of the line everything. While re sodding the course the offered each one of us a 2 person coupon for a half off round next time for the inconvenience. Amazing. Great greens. Awesome fairways and very intimidating tee shots.
Pro course from white tees
maybe the best first hole in golf 15 stories above the fairway greens were near perfect fairways like carpet views unmatched A 1 practice area I will play it again soon
Excellent Course and Facilities with exception of pace of play
This was my 4th or 5th time playing out here...the course itself is fantastic and was in excellent shape. Definitely one of my favorite tracks in all of California. The downside...it seemed the outside staff was "bent out of shape" that we did not pull up to the front of their facilities to drop our bag off instead driving straight to the parking lot and parking our car. As we were walking up to the pro shop the outside service guy told us that they prefer guests drop their bag off first before they park so the service team could place bags on carts and have them ready for customers out back of the pro shop. After we checked in we walked out back to pick up a cart where another outside service guy mentioned the same thing to us, stating we had gone against their normal protocol. Myself and my group were made quite uncomfortable, as if the service staff was mad at us for leaving our bags in our car. I've played a lot very nice public courses as well as many nice private golf clubs and sometimes their downfall is trying to provide too much service. This, again, was the vibe we got as a Yocha De He outside service gentleman stood and watched us as we warmed up on the driving range. There's only so much service that is needed or wanted at a golf course...I am a member at a private club in Northern California and Yocha De He's outside service team's attempt at service even surpassed my own private golf club's service team, which already I feel can sometimes be too much. I, along with my group, can really appreciate the effort but again we thought we were constantly watched and bombarded with too many service attempts. In short...fantastic golf course, great facilities, worth the drive, probably a little too much service.
Played Friday Oct 12th
Good tough course. Next time, I'll play from the next closest tee boxes. 420 yards par 4 holes are a bit of a stretch for a 65 year old.
Awesome views.
Stay away before a qualifier
Love this course and staff, but this was a day before a PGA qualifier and I was not impressed at all by the behavior of the golfers. Group in front of me was playing 2-3 balls each- not a problem until the group behind started crawling up my backside- I was ok with it as I understand these guys are trying to get in. The capper was on the back nine at 12. I had a gap wedge shot to the green,, and two players came in from another part of the course and without a word, drive up to my green, dropped a handful of balls and started putting! I looked at them and said what gives? They waved, picked up their balls and jumped to 13, and started hitting with that group!
Enough was enough- I left after 12 holes- too bad as the course was in great shape and up that point it was a gorgeous day in the valley. Would have been nice to finish it up, but it was quite clear that was not going to happen.
I'll check before I book another round here- if there's anything like this going on I will go elsewhere

This course is beautiful. The staff was friendly. The bottles of water every three holes was very appreciated on this 90 degree day.
My favorite course
Down side it was hot. The course showed a little wear from the drought and heat. Course still in very good condition. Best and most friendly staff on any course I have played including some of the elite. Will definitely play again.
Tough, but beautiful course
Course in great shape. Long, tough greens, and a great challenge. Can't wait for my next round here
Customer Service?
Most of the workers were quite rude. Perhaps it was because of my age or the look of my golf bag, but from the moment we arrived we were treated with no respect. That being said the course was beautiful and well taken care of. The fairways were under repair unfortunately but that is to be expected occasionally.
There are too many beautiful courses in California to go back to Yocha Dehe for the worst customer service I have experienced on a golf course.
Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to review our golf course. I am sorry to hear you had such a bad experience in regards to your customer service. I would like to get more details as we rarely receive bad comments or ratings on our customer service. If you can call me at your convenience i would like to speak with you about your day. Thank you!

Play like the pros
Yocha dehe is one of the premier courses in the area, the staff makes your golf experience excellent. They are currently working in re-sodding parts of the fairway but other than that it's great. Greens were punched 9/2 are still in incredible shape.
poorest fairways
Staff & grounds crews were excellent. Couldn't ask for better service. The greens were in fair condition given they were plugged September 1. However, the fairways were almost nonexistent. I would estimate that over 50% of the fairways were barren ground. Little or no grass under the 2nd & 3rd shots. I've played this course when the fairways were in prestine condition. Will not play again til conditions improve.
I was a little embarrassed after bringing a friend out to play after bragging about the course.
Good morning sir,
Thank you for taking the time to fill out the review on this website and provide us with your feedback. I am a little confused as to the comments about the fairways as while we have been repairing certain fairway areas due to the drought this summer, to say half the fairways are barren ground seems a bit excessive. Compared to year's past when we had plenty of water there is definitely a lot of areas that aren't pristine as usual. I'd be happy to discuss further if you want to give me a call at 530-796-5804. For any others reading this that wants updated pictures of our fairways, please e-mail me at rseymour@cachecreek.com and i would be happy to send you as many pictures as you would like to rest assured the golf course is, overall, very playable and especially the greens are in phenomenal condition.

Great course in the Sacramento area!
Played for this course for the first time. Staff was awesome! The setting in the foothills is fantastic. Fairways were in good condition and greens were firm and fast. The drought is beginning to take a toll on this course and many others. There are areas of the course which are being "let go." No real effect on play just hard to see in such a beautiful setting. I will be back for sure!!
Hello gman3312,
Thanks for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club. We are very fortunate to have made it through the summer with very little impact to our playable areas throughout the golf course. Luckily, we have already started the process of re-seeding and bringing back the areas that have suffered.
Thanks again for the review and we look forward to welcoming you out here again.

A true gem of a course with a Country Club feel!
I snuck out to YD while I was in Sacramento for work. Because if was the dead of summer there were some great deals to be found! Everyone I spoke to recommended this course and I have to say, it filled my expectations.
The courtesy staff makes you feel like you are at a country club from the moment you arrive. They are all very friendly and eager to help. Bring some cash to tip them.
Practice facilities were plentiful and in good shape. There is a drought here right now so they have minimized their watering effort but I never felt like it affected my round (for the exception of the warm up range). The starter was helpful in telling us about the course and off we went.....and WHOA, what a way to start! (you will see when you tee off on #1 here).
The course was GREAT! Tee boxes for every level. Truly one of the most diverse scenery golf courses I have played. A little bit of mountains, little bit of vineyards and plenty of creeks and ponds. We ran into a couple of deer while we were in the vineyard as well making the experience that much more special. Bunkers were soft (wish I didn't know that so well!) greens were great and the fairways were huge!
We ran into the group ahead of us about hole 9. Being a resort course I can see how pace of play can become an issue but since they were nearly the only other group out there that day we passed them on 11 and never saw anyone again.
I cannot wait to return to YD! Definitely worth every penny!
Great Experience
This course is excellent. It's a very fair golf course where good shots are rewarded and bad shots result in bogey or worse. I played with my wife and we both enjoyed the course, so payers of all abilities will enjoy this track. Staff was to notch--very professional and friendly. Tee boxes were pristine, like the one you see on TV. Greens are perfect--on the faster side, but that's how I like it, and the putts role pure. On of my new favorite courses. Worth the drive, and will definitely be back.
Always a great course to play.
I have playedthis course about 10 times and always enjoy the layout and the great maintenance. I last played here in May, so I was surprised to see all the brown grass when I played this time. In response to the major drought we have in all of California this year, I was told they have cut their daily watering use in half. As a result the driving range is all brown, except for thegreen painted target greens. And there are other areas on the course where the grass is all brown. But I applaud the management for taking this step in light of the water emergency. The course was still a joy.
Good afternoon,
Thank you for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club from your recent visit. To give further details with our water situation, we cut back like most other courses did while focusing all of our efforts on keeping almost all playable areas as pristine as possible. Really the only area that comes into play consistently that was affected was the left side of the split fairway on #15. Besides that, the other small areas throughout the course affected by reduced water might come into play with very errant tee shots. So far the feedback about how well conditioned the course is for this time of year has been overwhelmingly good, so we are happy to have made it through the summer with keeping the golf course in pristine shape despite the drought and hot temperatures. I would like to speak with you about a couple of other things if you have time to call me at 530-796-5804. Thanks for your time and also for reviewing Yocha Dehe Golf Club. - Rusty Seymour, Director of Golf.
Immaculate conditions though a bit out of the way
Played here at 8:30 AM tee time on a Saturday. Course played just a touch slow, but only by a few minutes. Fairways and greens are in great shape. A water conservation effort has resulted in many areas beyond the rough that are not watered and brown (dead). I did not play out the dead stuff once the entire time, but the people playing with me and it seemed easier to hit out of than the rough. The rough is, well, rough. I think the best advice about this course is to
1) Stay in fairway, but if you wind up in the rough then
2) Take a safe shot back onto the fairway rather than trying to hit from the rough like you can still reach the green in regulation.
The rough grabs your clubs and makes it very hard to hit your ball straight.
Capay Valley Gem
Yocha Dehe is pricey for me but such a great outing!!Calif in a bad drought but they recycle and manage the course SO well it was green and lush. Got a slow start behind 4 hi rollers and had to jump past them to actually play!! Bunkers crusty but they had just been watered. I started 8:15 but already hot!!
All staff and cart girl were very nice and encouraging!! Course lush, trimmed from tee to green
Thanks for a excelllent experience!
When in northern CA this course is a "don't miss".
Good morning! Thank you for your recent review of Yocha Dehe Golf Club. We apologize for the inconvenience of it being cart path only. We understand it burdens the experience but with the reseeding we performed in many of the areas that struggled this summer due to the drought we are trying to get everything back to the usual pristine conditions. This means reducing the amount of cart traffic for a few weeks. We hope the inconvenience caused will pay off as we head into 2015 with great playing surfaces all around for our guests. We hope to see you back out here again soon.
